For work socks I don't recommend. I walked outside to my mailbox ( without shoes) that isn't that far twice and they got a hole in bottom already. If you work in them with boots on they are kind of thin. You can buy cheaper socks with same quality on Amazon. Not real rugged at all unless you are always walking on carpet in house without shoes.

Too tight

These socks are too tight for two reasons: 1) The well-known problem of sizes being smaller since manufacturers rebaselined their sizing 2) There is a high percentage of elastic, making these socks almost unbearable to wear for long durations, or for lounging (yeah, you know that feeling).

Too small, too tight

Oh why oh why didn't I read the negative reviews? They clearly say the Large is too small and too tight and they are 100% correct. I wear a size 10 shoe and ordered Large ones. One of the negative reviews says the Extra Large would only work for a size 11 maximum so that's what I should have ordered. Yes, I can stretch them on but after walking awhile the fabric and squeeze makes the tootsies really grumpy. Order big or some other socks. I'm ordering some other socks.
