Functional, but with limitations.

Serves a useful purpose, for a few specific tasks. However it has as many problems as benefits. Namely, it is extremely overpriced for what it is. If you want to get it as a kit like this, it is probably worth spending a bit extra just to have the molded case. The magnets are extremely powerful, and if you bought the leader/bullet and the retriever/roller separately they could be difficult to store without hurting your other tools or damaging themselves. If you are looking at this, don't bother with the "jonard" one. Search amazon for "magnapull" instead, (B000YJB5WO), it is $25-50 less and is the exact same thing. They appear to be made by the same company, the only difference is that the jonard branded product is supposed to include an instructional dvd. That dvd wasn't included anyway, so there is no sense paying extra for it. I ended up returning it and buying the magnapull system (which is really what this review is for, as the product is identical otherwise in terms of functionality) Otherwise, the system works well for its intended purpose, but be aware that because it is so powerful, the leader will get caught up easily on things that you didn't intend. If your'e trying to pull through an enclosed space that has metal studs, ductwork, or even joist hangers, you need to control the pull and direction very carefully or it will get hung up. I found it took many tries to get it though a space unimpeded. The included chain is too short to be of much use, I'd recommend connecting your own fish tape, rods, or a wire pull string/rope instead.

Skeptical construction crew impressed!

This tool worked amazingly well pulling A/V cabling thru walls WITH insulation. Very strong magnets! I took off one star because the price was a little high based on other similar offerings and the DVD as shown was not included, but it shipped with Prime so we had it when needed. The missing videos are probably just the same as the ones that can be viewed online which actually were very helpful. This tool will pay for itself in 1 or 2 jobs.
