On my 4th set of filters in 8 years, still happy with the flavor and output

I have had the Ecopure RO system for about 8 years and I just buy these replacements. I got a set recently that made my water taste like plastic. It didn't go away, it was a bad filter. I just contacted the seller and they sent out a replacement that arrived in less than 48hrs. Great customer service to make it right. This new set is great, and tastes super clean. They recommend to replace after about 6 months... but I do them about every 18 months and they're just fine. We don't have super hard water or anything crazy in our tap, so they last longer with good flavor.

Poor Delivery

The product is fine. But it was put into our USPS mailbox. We never looked there because that is not an appropriate place to put anything that is not U.S. mail. Anyway, we got it after the postman told us it was in the box.

It works - install took a little bit longer - filters a bit pricey

For the price point, this is a reverse osmosis system that works. It did take almost all day to install and we had to replace some plumbing but that's because we have some older plumbing so if you have an older house, make sure someone handy is doing the install. This comes with a nice faucet and the way it works is - once installed - you are supposed to let the system run for 24 hours. So basically have a small trickle coming out of the faucet that whole time. Once that was done, the system actually filled the tank that came with the system and it will keep it filled as we use the water. I can hear the filtration working as it goes through the different filters after I take some water out. The flow of the water is also at a nice rate that allows me to fill up a cup of water in no time. We did use the water test strip that came with it and found 0 nitrates. I am hoping to get a more in depth water tester on this to determine how pure the water really is. My one main concern is that when it comes time to replace the filters, they are quite pricey.. you are looking at $50 just for the first two filters and around another $50 for the membrane. Overall, we are enjoying the system and it works for us. Install took long but it wasn't impossible.

The RO these go to have internal shutoffs so filter changes are extremely easy. Also great value compared to others.

We love this unit

We had a unit in the house when we purchased it but we could only buy the filters from the dealer and had to pay for fitting, they were expensive. I saw this unit and decided to give it a try as our old unit needed replacing. Well, we're not disappointed. It took my wife and I 30 minutes to remove the old unit and fit this one. Luckily the the drain and water pipe fitting were the same size, it would have taken a little long otherwise. The quality of the water is unbelievable and the filters are easily purchased (from Amazon) and replaced by me, no huge bill to pay. Highly recommend if you drink a lot of water. Food and drink (tea, coffee) taste much better too!

Simple setup, well made, and works... but...

The product is well made, and for the most part includes everything you need. If your like me, you will be making some visits Big Box Store to get some parts, here's why... So I wanted to get a reverse osmosis system for three reasons... 1) I need to have my humidifier during the cold winter months. I heat by baseboard, and the air gets too dry. I prefer Ultrasound type humidifiers, since they require no filters that will start to affect the air quality with one BIG caveat. The type of water is crucial to do away with white dust. The minerals left in the water by a water filter built in to my refrigerator is not effective in removing the minerals and impurities that will eventually leave a white dust and haze everyone in your home. So far, the RO water that I'm using is working to my satisfaction. 2) I cannot be bothered buying distilled water (only found in 1 gallon jugs), or the boiled vapour water (not really distillation, since the water taste kind of funny but safe for human consumption) that is mineral free. I just need too much each week for run in my portable humidifiers, and take up too much space to store. 3) I hated going out and buying 5 gallon containers. My family goes through 8 gallons of water a week. Their heavy, they take up space, and you still need to drag a bottle into the kitchen to put inside the water bottle dispenser. My tweak was that I tapped the "blue line" which is the final product if you will, of the RO water found within the water tank that is "refreshened" in the last filter before coming out of the spout. The Tee i put supplies the final water to continue through so as to output from the spout, as well as I sent the second feed to my refrigerator. To do this mod, you will require a T connector with two 3/8 inch output that can receive the 3/8 inch blue tube and use a compression connector to make the seal. The other connector is a male thread 1/4 inch because most water feeds from a water source to a fridge run a braided hose that has two female 1/4 inch type screw connectors. * Just note that, you should bypass your fridge water filter, as well as remove (like in my case) the flow restrictor that is usually found on most fridges with water dispensers. The pressure output from the RO system, even when charged, is at least 75% below a typical water faucet that is pushing upwards of 75psi water pressure. So 1) you do not need to filter the water coming out from the RO system, and 2) the pressure is soft to begin with, that leaving the refrigerator water filter really slows the water coming out of the water dispenser. You will save yourself a world of hurt, if you already have an addition hole in your sink that you can swap out the dish soap dispenser, and use the spout for the RO water spout. I have granite counter tops, and I do not have for the time being a diamond encrusted round hole saw to drill out another 1" hole. I will order that on amazon, so that I can keep my soap dispenser because I find that really convenient. So far, I have ran approximately three gallons of water through the system, using it mainly for my humidifiers. I have tasted the water, and well let me say... It tastes a whole lot better than Dansani (which is filtered public supply water, from one of the big soft drink companies), which isn't a compliment. It tastes no where near as true spring water from a mountain source, almost impossible to find these days. It is comparable to the bottled water you buy from the grocery store with one big difference, it is soft and smooth in the mouth. It's hard to explain how so, but it feels smooth and silky. It does not enhance the taste, but does make it more enjoyable to drink. I will say it is a far improvement over the public supplied water source in my area (which I have stopped drinking the last 20 years or so), and since the city tightened the amount of acceptable lead in water, I took action now since their action to date was to flag communities that still have lead pipes in the distribution areas underground and slated for replacement in the next 3 to 5 years down the road. No amount of lead is safe, since your body cannot dispel it once you drink it, and it gets in your body. I have no experience to base off, if this RO system is better than another companies RO system. The number one reason I chose EcoPure is because they claim they remove solids and minerals in the water. Cheers! Update (3 weeks later). To date, the RO system by Ecopure is working well. I have only one issue to report to date and that is noise. In the middle of the night, if you use the system at all the unit will want to recharge itself. In doing so, you will hear the expelling water within the plumbing drain make a dribble noise. The noise is evacuating from the sink drain, and not from underneath the cabinet. So depeding on how hollow your home is, and the distance from your sleeping quarters to the sink in the kitchen, this noise can be bothersome. Something like a dripping faucet bothersome to some. You can alleviate this by A) not using the system prior to retiring for the night. B) setting enough fresh water aside in advance. C) filling the drain with water and keeping the sink plunger closed so that noise cannot filter from the evacuating draining from underneath the sink and up through the sink.

Ecopure 3 stage cheap and nasty

This 3 stage filter it cheap and not very efficient, no replacement filters to be found, kettles get calcium deposits after a while, water dose not taste like it's been filtered although the chlorine is mostly removed, Overall not worth the price paid even with discount, recommend buying a recognised brand and pay a bit more, now used for 6 months and thinking of buying a proper known brand.

I use these filters in my NorthStar RO system. They are considerably cheaper than NorthStar brand, fit perfect, water quality after filter is equivalent to NorthStar. Can’t loose with this product. Highly recommend.

Worth the money.

Bought these for a friend who bought the filter system from Home Depot, but stopped selling this filter for the unit. They started to sell a after market filter which would leak and was more money. These were installed and worked perfectly. Another happy customer.
