Most recently I installed a faucet mounted Pur water filter. The usual type of Pur water filter I had used for over 10 years was good enough for my purposes. That model was discontinued and the new styles just didn't seem like a good fit. Well, as a leap of sight only,I ordered the system shown in the photos. If only I had known! This style of Pur water filter system fit like a glove. Easy to install with the quick release mounting options. Best part was the whole system swings behind and out of the way. See pictures. The faucet is even better to navigate around doing dishes in my studio apartment's tiny sink. What a relief! Mounting a wet bar style faucet makes usage a breeze. The filter within the Pur water system is now vertical. No leaks with moderate water pressure used. Hovers over my refillable 1 gallon jug which fits in my refrigerator. The price of this unit is very reasonable. The faucet like mine is a one time payment with lifetime guarantee. Check your hardware store item warrantees. Get the faucet installed then invest in a Pur water filter system, to extend your shelf life. Filling the 1 gallon bottle I spill a little water transferring it out of my sink. Wipes easily. The Pur system stays water tight. I can't say enough but for you to get one for yourself.

Pretty good in-sink filter, but a little bulky size

My house has lead pipes and a very high level of chlorine from the water treatment plant in the water. The lead is fine (so far) but the chlorine makes it taste like I'm drinking from a swimming pool. I got this to alleviate the chlorine issue and to avoid any future problems that may arise from an old house with lead pipes, and it did it perfectly. Great filter, refill filter cartridges can be found in almost any department/grocery store, decent price, and the water actually tastes good and correct right out of the filter. This does what it says: reduces several dangerous chemicals and toxins in your water and then puts some basic minerals back in to improve the taste instead of just giving you absolutely pure water (which has zero flavor and many people don't like it). It is also very easy to install (usually no tools required). The only down-side here is that it is quite bulky and it is not designed to fit faucets where the nozzle is at an angle; it will work at up to 45 degree slope on your faucet pipe but it will be sitting oddly and it may splash water over the edge of your sink onto the floor. It really is designed for faucets where the pipe is 0 degrees (vertical) for the last two or three inches at least. Here are some things to be aware of before you buy: 1. Filters are designed to last up to 3 months or 100 gallons, whichever comes first. It has an indicator light that tells you when it is time to change the filter. You "can" use it for about 4 months if you don't use a whole lot of filtered water, but eventually you will need to change the filter or the contaminants will get through it and into your drinking glass. Filters are cheap and easy to find so change them when the light turns red. 2. It has a switch so you can either get unfiltered water in a thick stream bypassing the filter, or filtered water in a thin but strong stream which will use up "time" on your indicator light. So for instance you can turn the filter on for drinking water, brushing your teeth, etc. and then turn it off for things like washing dishes or washing your hands. 3. It is very bulky, designed for faucets that point STRAIGHT DOWN for at least a few inches before the end of the faucet. You also will need almost a foot of open space to one side or in front of the faucet because the filter unit clips onto the bottom of the faucet nozzle but then the main filter stands parallel to the faucet. It is almost a foot tall, too, but it only adds about two inches to the end of the faucet - the rest of the height goes upward beside the faucet. Look at the main pics on the item's description and you should see how it attaches. Now imagine if your sink nozzle pointed at an angle instead of downward... like my bathroom sink does... not the best fit for that type of faucet. 4. Although it will lock onto the faucet to gravity won't pull it down, there is no lateral lock so it will be able to spin freely around the faucet, you can move it side to side if it is in the way. Because of this though, it is not meant to be installed on faucets that point at any sideways angle - only those that point straight down or close to it. 5. Installation is simple, it comes with four sets of screw-in nozzles that replaces the aerator at the end of your faucet, then the filter unit just clips onto the new nozzle. The hardest part is actually unscrewing your old aerator, sometimes they are on too tight so you may need a wrench to loosen it but it should all be just finger-tight. 6. Whenever installing a new filter, run the water with the new filter in for 5-10 minutes before you use it. This clears out any charcoal particles small enough to get through the filter while also allowing the filter matrix to become saturated with water so that it actually works the way it is supposed to. 7. If you haven't used the water for about an hour (up to about 36 hours) let it run for about 10 seconds before you use the water for drinking or whatever, just to clear any standing junk out. If it has been longer than a day and a half, run it for 5 minutes again to re-wet the filter because it may have dried out. 8. Gravity is a real thing, so after you shut off the water the filter might still drip for a few seconds. This usually isn't a "problem" but something to be aware of - that drip is just gravity not a leaky seal, it should stop after a few seconds.

Vertical orientation good for tight spaces, swivels side to side to get out of the way.

Love the grey color, should hide dirt, hopefully wont peel like the prior model's "chrome" Vertically oriented filter cylinder allow more room for lever-type faucet handles and the whole assembly swivels from side to side to make room if you need it. The prior model's filter was oriented horizontally and was always in the way. We shall see about durability. 4 stars for now,, 5 if it lasts.

Reduce the number of plastic bottles

I recently decided to consume more water and was drinking 6 bottles or more a day. We have such awful water where we live so tap water alone is out of the question. I like the simplicity of this. Easy to install. Comes with multiple adapters to fit any faucet. So glad I bought this, my coffee and tea taste much better as well.

Gets the job done!

Super easy set up! Comes with 4 different attachment to fit your specific faucet. The activation switch can be put half way so you can have filter water coming out and regular water if you’re multi tasking!

Great system + filter

I didn't think the attachment came with a filter so I was pleasantly surprised to discover one in the package that arrived. The sink faucet attachment options were self explanatory and give you 4 "universal" options to choose from, meaning through trial and error, there's almost no way you won't get this attached to your faucet. We used the PUR as an upgrade from our Brita pitchers and can really taste the difference and feel the reduction in calcium grit.

Great tasting water

My apartment's water has a strong chlorine taste. I love that this filters and add minerals. The water has a smooth mild flavor. So much more convenient than a pitcher.

Overall great and easy to install.

Good product. Works great so far (4 months in). The only concern I had with it is that it seems to put a lot of strain on the faucet as it's a bit heavy and weighs down on it. Water pressure is higher in the faucet too since the attachment restricts water flow a bit. I had an older faucet when I first installed and it was causing leakage around the base of the faucet ( mind you, it was a 10 year old faucet that was already a bit loose). After installing a new faucet there are no issues but I am a bit concerned it may cause damage over time. Otherwise the water tastes great! I like the indicator light that shows filter quality.. very handy. Wasn't too hard to install either. Filter is very easy to swap in and out. Overall it's good.

Great buy, rather than carrying jugs of water up stairs

I did a bunch of research and decided to buy the pur water filter rather than the brita and I am happy to say it was such a great buy, we have terrible, hard, yucky tasting tap water, it was such a pain fulling up water jugs and carrying them up 4 flights of stairs, I needed something easier. So easy to install, tastes great and makes coffee taste even better... the hard, yucky water destroyed 2 coffee makers and I was carrying 30 litres of water up 4 flights of steps every week and a half, probably spent more money and energy than I needed, should’ve just bought this a long time ago! The only small problem I have is how slow the water comes out, but I’d rather wait a few minutes then carry jugs water. I am also considering on buying the shower filter one as well!

Let's wait and see

So the delivery of this product was very fast. Instructions and installation was also very easy to read and installed in less than a few minutes. Lot's of the reviewers of this product said the filter didn't last as long as advertised. This could possibly be because of the amount of impurities it has to filter. More impurities in the water, the more frequent the filter changes I would imagine. I have a male fitting on my tap which uses the only metal fitting supplied with the filtration system. Even after I inserted the supplied rubber washer for it, it still leaked a fair bit. so I unscrewed the fitting and applied a wrap of Teflon tape to my tapes threads and then reinstalled the metal fitting tightening snuggly with pliers. This made a huge difference. It makes mention you are not to run hot water through the filter so this might account for a shortened filter life. So far I prefer it to the Brita I have been using. The tap to change from filter to unfilter on the PUR is far superior to the Brita.

Good Water Filter!

I just purchased this PUR water filter for my home. The filter was delivered very quickly, (next day) and came with 4 different head types, to fit your particular home water tap. I was very impressed! I took off the old head on the water tap, and checked out the 4 individual tap heads, until I found the one that matched mine. I simply replaced it with the new one from PUR water filters, then used the quick disconnect, (great feature) and BAM it was done! I turned it on to check it, and No Leaks, and then turned on the filtered water feature, and let it run for about 1 minute. I now am confident that my family will have good clean water for drinking anytime, you can still do dishes in the sink, and if need be, you can use the quick disconnect to remove it all together. I would definitely encourage anyone to try it out, it works great for our family needs!!

Very easy to install. Pure water!

We have a well that supplies all of our water> The water has great taste but is quite hard. My husband is at home with me in palliative care with terminal cancer. The use of a humidifier makes him more comfortable but I did not want to use our hard water and possibly send all the impurities into the air for him to inhale. Installing this system was so simple for me (after using CLR to dissolve the calcification around the faucet). I purchased a set of additional filters and feel confident that we now have clean , pure water for all our needs.
