Well use your imagination! We all have better things to do, right?

'Got these to replace felt discs, which were being used on our kitchen chair legs. The felt discs were "double-stick" and stayed on the bottoms of the chair legs for a couple months at a time. Well, that got expensive. there's four chairs, and 16 felt discs three to five times per year added up to around $40 per year. I had to always keep a coffee can of these felt discs on hand, to replace worn felt discs as needed. But...you couldn't buy the felt discs around town (local stores) in the quantity I needed to keep in stock. The local store was ALWAYS low or out of stock, if I let my stock get too low. SO...I had to keep the felt disc purchase errand be almost weekly, to keep my supply up. This began getting to be madness. You see, the felt discs would compress through time, from the weight of people sitting in the chair. When they compress, they get hard, and do not provide the "soft" affect on the floor, like when they were new. Also, the felt discs collected dust, hair, and a lot of other "matter" which was on the floor, between sweeping instances. Turning the chairs upside down, on the kitchen table, and razor-blading them off, cleaning the old glue off, and then re-applying a new felt disc...well use your imagination! We all have better things to do, right? The only reason why this item gets four stars instead of five, is because I can only do ONE kitchen chair, because I need the larger gliding discs for our wooden kitchen chairs, and this item comes with only four gliding discs (that's one chair).

Works to solve noise movement problem on hard floors too!

Just installed these on our dinette Wooden chairs. Our floor is Ceramic tile & the chairs made a terrible noise when moved, scraping sawed wood across the floor. These solved that and they slide quietly now. Although the ads indicate to use on low cut carpet and/or vinyl - and the packaging indicates 'Not For Use on Hard Floors' - they seem perfect for it anyway. Maybe they won't last a long time under the weight/stress of people daily moving around on them but the price is such that replacement is reasonable. I suggest you use both the adhesive and the screws, and drill a 1/2" deep pilot hole to make installation easy.

Not for Carpet

Forget the adhesive, it'll come off the next day. So, I used the screws, which hold fine. The problem is that the hole left in the bottom snags on carpet therefore they DON'T slide on carpet...defeating the whole purpose.

Go With the Nap

My only problem is that the smaller ones - which attached easily and are not detaching - work well only when I'm sliding the chair or footstool in the direction of the 1/2" nap of the carpet; sticks when going against the nap. But, overall, are preferable to not having them.

Best slides I have found.

These chair glides are terrific. First of all, you can screw them on, so they stay on. Second, they help chairs to slide easily on carpet, versus just the wood legs, and the chairs move smoothly on hard floors without scratching the floor. My dining room chairs were able to use the larger slides, meant for the dining room table, so there were enough for 5 chairs. I would have liked to be able to purchase the 1 1/2 inch slides separately, as these fit better on the back legs of the chairs, but the smaller disks seem to work fine.

wonderful for carpet

I bought 2 sets of these, this one and the 8 pack of squares. just put down new carpet and the bar stools would not slide! these are great! work just like the huge easy sliders I have under my sofa! used the supplied screws and seriously, took less than 30 seconds a chair! screw is recessed, so you don't have to worry about them hurting your carpet!
