Christmas tradition

Since I went to the Nutcracker museum in, Levensworth, WA, I have been painting my own nutcracker each year. Amazon gives me a great opportunity to look for different styles every year. Always includes plenty of paint, stickers, faux fur, and ideas.

Fun for a 4 year old, could do with a couple of improvements

I bring my 4 year old to see the nutcracker every year so this was a great pre-christmas craft for her. She had fun, and was very excited by this, especially the hair. A few things I would change: - The gemstones at not stickers. I own lots of similar gemstone stickers, there not expensive, not sure why they cheaped out here. My daughter gave up on trying to glue them on - The hair does not have a sticker strip. I've had similar projects with fur in the past that at least had one sticky strip, I had to use my hot glue gun - The stickers do not stay on over the paint - they are just not sticky enough - The paint pots are not suitable for mixing - if mixing is expected a palette and tubes should be provided. I used my own paints and palette for mixing, not a big deal just not the best deign

Nice but not without issue

Wood sculpture was very good - smooth and ready for painting. We bought two of these - one for each 9 year old boy and each one with a minor issue. The Drummer and arrived with one of his drum sticks missing the end. Paint was thick but not as dried out at the the other. The Guardsman issue was the paint was dried out. With some water and mixing we eventually made it usable. Boys didn't seem to care and they had fun painting them. I would recommend as this is the best price I found them and the wood sculpture is good in spite of the missing part.

Pre-Christmas craft for kids

This is the second year I've sent these to my now 8 year old grandsons. Delivery is a week before Christmas. According to the parents they're a huge hit and a fun project in anticipation of the big day. They leave it out so Santa can see how well they did on finishing the project.

Poor quality, but fun

Very poor quality - couldn't actually crack nuts with it because the lower jaw is too wiggly. Lots of splintery parts and gobs of glue. But, for the price, it's a fun craft. It looked really nice with the metallic paint and fur added. Note that it only comes with primary colors, black white and metallic. If you want other colors or shades like in the examples, be prepared to mix or buy your own paint. I used some of their paint and some of my own to make the nutcracker in the photo.

Nice fun gift for kids

Good gift for my 5 years old grandson for Christmas. Painted together, its fun for all family for a few hours. Very holiday intertaiment.

Dried out paint

Love it but only problem is that most of the paint that is supplied has dried out.

Pot luck, and use your own paint

Ordered 2 one perfect, one the box was damaged, had no stickers or fur for hair, hat was askew and needed sanding... But after all that was fixed and i used my own paints the results were good.

Not worth the money

When arrived, paints were dried up,had to buy my own otherwise not a bad kit
