Worked well

Used on a car with elliptical cross-bars and a canoe with aluminum rails. Worked very well.

Great to attach a canoe to the roof rack

I have a standard roof-rack on a Toyota sienna. Two sets of these (4 pcs total) and some tie-down straps made it easy to haul around my canoe for local trips. These keep it from sliding and life it up a couple inches which keeps the ends from getting too close to the roof and potentially scraping. All-in-all, this is what you want if you're hauling around a canoe on a car roof... but don't forget to buy some straps as well.

Effective for transporting canoes

These pads seemed to hold up well and they transported my canoe without any issues. They seem like they might wear out over time but so far they seem like a good product.

Good multi-purpose canoe blocks

I've used blocks like this for my canoe, but I bought these to support a water tank on my van roof cargo bars. I just cut the indents out to about a 10" diameter curve, sat them on the bars, the tank upon them, and strapped it down. Excellent adaptation, and they are serving well.

Not high quality

They are great the first time or two you use them. But soon they start to warp, and the nonskid material starts to peel of the foam block. I actually lost one on the highway once because it lost its shape and the non skid material peeled back. I was exapectong higher quality for the price I paid

Ok foam, wish it was wider.

Product dimensions are more like 4x4x7 inches each, not 9.3 x 8 x 4.5 inches like it says in the description. You may have to buy 2 sets for your application. I bought one set and needed to cut open the notches to fit my roof bars. After doing so I'm afraid the foam is just going to continue to rip because the foam looses much of its integrity once altered.

Great Blocks

I apologize for my previous review, for I thought it was a different product I had purchased previously. These cartop carrier canoe blocks are well-designed, larger than most and have a special coated grip surface to protect your vehicle and keep the blocks from slipping. One thing to note; since these blocks are larger (both height and width) than some, they may not match the height of your previous kit if you're ordering these as replacements. I would recommend two sets as a complete block carrier set. You'll be pleased with these blocks.

Work pretty well. I use four of them on my VW golf and it is a little hard get them all to set evenly. Would work very well on a bigger flatter roof. Still works well on my small car.

Be very careful, structure is not durable

Drove for the first time after getting a new canoe. The second cut-out began to collapse on the highway and launched one of the blocks off my roof, causing a quick exit to save the canoe from falling off. Mounts were tight before leaving, however the blocks had warped and given way. NOT safe. Would not recommend, get trusted ones from shops or ones with single cut-outs.

Falling apart after 3 trips... don't buy!

On my third trip these started falling apart. The rubber side is peeling away on 2 of the 4 blocks. I will try to repair them but will be buying a different brand instead.

Excellent to use with an older style canoe.

These blocks worked great to protect the roof of our SUV. We used with our older, very heavy fibreglass canoe. They stayed on well (all 20 hrs of driving). Easy to put on and easy to remove. Definitely would recommend these!
