I live in Florida so outside of work I'm always wearing flip-flops. Even in my house I wear them because, well, it's Florida and sand is everywhere (I live by the beach too, which makes it worse). I've had Volcom flip-flops before and even though the top where the bottom of the foot goes looked like car tire tread, they were the most comfortable things I've ever put on my feet... but not right away... and just like those, these require a few days break-in period. Sure, they feel funky for a couple days; The part where the sole of the foot touches these is like 30 small pillows, and right away they feel rather stiff for pillows, but a few days in and they are as soft as your favorite bed pillow. The part where your big toe and the next toe (whatever that toe is called, who knows) goes, feels rough and stiff, but just like the sole, a few days in and you feel like your toes and these flip-flops are cuddle buddies. Very soft! So, no complaint with comfort, as 3 days in and I've forgotten about my Quicksilvers and my old Volcoms, which is to say these are awesomely super comfy! What I don't like... and mind you these are flip-flops and comfort is king, so if you agree, don't read this and buy them. Now, if you need to know what isn't perfect, because you care about looks... then kick a star off and make it only 4 of 5. I personally care about comfort over fashion. But the edges of these, where the pillow looking bumps are cut off because it's the edge, looks like it was done with a saw. It appears rough (ruff - for you millennials) although it is physically soft. But that's it. Nothing else to speak bad of these. 3 days of wearing them and you get super dooper comfort. Those 3 days aren't so bad you'll get blisters or anything, they just aren't perfect in that time and feel walmartish til broken in. They aren't heavy, in fact they're really light which is great. They aren't expensive. Sure they aren't $6 like the "w" store-brand mentioned, but older Volcoms used to cost over $90, which sounds insane for flip-flops right? This price is much better and they appear to be made out of the same material as the old ones. Win win :D
