Great product
Fit on the rods and did a great jon cleaning the chimney pipe. Fits inyo the pipe perfectly and was easy 2 clean.

A Heavy Duty Brush That Does an Excellent Job
My first few attempts at cleaning my chimney were with the soot eater cleaner that was flexible enough it would work from the bottom. It used nylon line similar to an oversized string trimmer. It got most of the loose stuff, but didn't get the harder stuff. So I thought I would give this stiff metal brush a try. It did a great job, but there are a few things you should know. First is handle it carefully, the thing will stick you like a porcupine. My first attempt from the top down, it was almost impossible to pull it though due to the buildup. I actually ended up using the old soot eater first and then this steel brush. You need to use the rope provided or a chain connected to the loop on the bottom of the brush to pull it down through, and then pull it back up with the extensions that are sold separately. It's a tight fit and doesn't pull through easily, but it does an excellent job.

Fits an 8" pipe perfectly. Bought the extensions from Lowes. I only needed 4- 4 footers. I made an adapter to chuck into my drill so I could connect it to the rods and spin this thing while it was in the pipe but it's a tight fit and would not spin. Highly recommend as I hadn't cleaned my wood stove pipe for probably 10 yrs. Bought this https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00120NNCY/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_27 to use for about a week before I cleaned it. It crystalized all the soot in the wood stove and pipe and it just brushed away like nothing.

Worked pretty well on my fireplace insert with a 8" chimney.
It worked as described. For those asking, it was made in China, not USA. The company "Rutland Products" is located in Jacksonville, Illinois not Rutland, Vermont. Regardless, the brush worked pretty well on my fireplace insert with a 8" chimney. We removed about 4 cups worth of soot after the cleaning. Would I buy it again? Yes. Did it wow me so much that it deserves 5 stars? No. It's a good enough brush that might last 3 or 4 seasons.

Love this brush, will last us for years
We had asked the local fire company to clean out our chimney as my husband has cancer and heart problems. They never even called me back, so i ordered this and the handles and my husband climbed on the roof and cleaned our chimney. Months later the fire company called back and said they would clean the chimney. I told them they were too late, we purchased the brush and handle and did it ourself. they lost the donation. Oh well.

Just make sure you measure the diameter of the pipe on top of the insert if you have one in your fireplace before you order the brush because they come in 4, 6, and 8 inch diameters. I remove the chimney cap, make four passes, up and down once a year in September, reinstall the cap and I'm all set for the winter.

Great chimney brush
Bought this to clean our wood burning chimney. I plan to clean it once or twice a year and this brush will be great to use. I used it once already and the bristles are very stiff (which is good). I was concerned that it wouldn't work right with either our chimney or the rods being a different size thread but it seems like this is a standard size so it worked out great.
