I just used my new food processor for the first time. I noticed a few things that could be done better. The first and most important thing I noticed is that the gear mechanism in the base isn’t sealed to keep liquid from going down into the motor. The bottom of the bowl must be thoroughly dried before placing it back onto the base. The inside of the bowl is well sealed when it is put together, so I don’t think liquid will leak out of the bowl and into the motor. The paddles are open as well, and liquid could drip into the motor from the area around the paddles. The gear mechanism is all plastic, and seems rather flimsy. It may be fine. Time will tell. My last very minor gripe is that the lock for the bowl turns clockwise, and the lock for the little pieces in the food pusher turn counter clockwise. Hmm…Must have been designed by committee. Now for all of the positives. I sliced sweet potatoes to roast. Worked like a charm, and so fast. The slices were nice and even in spite of me not using steady pressure. I shredded a cooked chicken breast with the S blade and that worked well and was really easy, too. And lastly, I shredded a whole block of cheddar cheese in two seconds. I only had a tiny little piece of cheese left on the top of the shredding disk. Clean up between tasks, and the final clean up was a breeze. I filled a sink with hot soapy water. Each time I took the bowl off I gave it a quick rinse, and then a good hard swish in the soapy water, and another rinse to get off the soap, and it was ready to go again. The only pain was having to carefully dry the bottom of the bowl each time. It is really nice that all the pieces fit in the bowl for storage. That is a nice feature. Bottom line…I think in the long run I am really going to like this food processor. I bought it to do the prep work for making large batches of dog food for my best friend. I spent hours prepping the vegetables and potatoes for the first batch all by hand with a knife and box grater. Now it should be pretty easy. I bought the dicing attachment which I haven’t received yet. I will update my review after I have tried it out. For the price, I think it is a good value. The next better food processor is 2-3 times the price. Update: I received my dicing kit and just tried it out. I diced a whole bowl of carrots, sweet potatoes, and celery. It didn’t do a very good job. I had to stop and clean it out a couple of times. There was quite a bit of waste left on top of the blade. Cleaning out the little squares was a pain even with the cleaning tool. I probably won’t use it again. It just doesn’t work very well. My best friend is going to get her veggies shredded rather than diced. I wouldn’t recommend it. I also bought the small bowl, and that is very useful. I really like it.

Works great

I needed a food processor because the one I had (leading competitor) stopped working. The motor just died. Decided to buy the cuisinart for it’s credibility and the warranty on it. It works wonderfully

Product height INCORRECT. Big storage problem!

The listed product height is listed 15", but the actual height with the pushers installed for storage is 16 3/4". Big difference because the unit has to sit on the countertop and slide under the upper cabinets. It BARELY slides under the 16 1/4" available storage height with the pushers removed. Nothing is anywhere close to 15" high when assembled. Luckily this will work by only having to store the pushers separately. Otherwise, would have had to return what looks like a great product.

LOVE THE BOWL DESIGN & OVERALL PERFORMANCE ! BIG IMPROVEMENT OVER MY LAST ONE!

I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS MACHINE! I LOVE THE NEW DESIGN OF THE BOWL: IT IS WIDER AT THE TOP AND TAPERS SLIGHTLY AT THE BOTTOM AND IS NOT REAL TALL. ONE OF MY FAVORITE IMPROVEMENTS WITH THE MACHINE IS THAT YOU CAN TURN THE BOWL OVER AND SCRAPE OUT EVERYTHING INSIDE WITH THE BLADE STAYING IN PLACE! THIS IS A BIG CONVENIENCE! (THE OLD MODEL, WHEN TIPPED OVER, THE BLADE ALWAYS FELL OUT AND IT MADE THINGS MESSY). I ALSO REALLY LIKE THE WIDER MOUTH OPENING! THE FOOD DOES NOT HAVE TO BE PUSHED DOWN: YOU CAN PRETTY MUCH DROP THE FOOD IN AND GRIND IT UP. OF COURSE, IF NEED BE, THE PLASTIC PUSHER WILL PUSH THE FOOD DOWN THE SHOOT. THE TWO SLICING / SHREDDING BLADES OFFER "THIN" OR "MEDIUM" OPTIONS FOR SLICING MUSHROOMS, CARROTS, ETC. COMES WITH A HOLDER FOR ALL THE SHARP BLADES. EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS MACHINE IS WONDERFUL!

Big Improvement with Larger Capacity and Paddle Buttons

In capacity, design, and performance, this new processor really exceeds and excels in effectiveness and usefulness over the old mini chopper we replaced after years of good service. The main purpose for the mch - 4ws in our house is salsas and salad dressing, which we consume in quantity and variety. The added capacity of the work bowl and paddle switches are a terrific design improvement over the old model and Cuisinart has held pricing down to still keep this a great value. This is our everyday workhorse and we only break out the big cuisinart food processor for working with nuts, cheese, or big batch jobs, which this little chopper is not suited to. Use for making mayonnaise, purees, salad dressings and the like and all will hover in your kitchen waiting for more.

Lacks power

Tried to make some cashew butter with this but it just stopped working half way into it. Had to toss it and get a new one. Won’t overpower the next one.

Great Quality

I purchased this as a replacement for my 15 year old former Cuisinart mini chopper. I’ve trusted this brand for many years and it does not disappoint. It is actually much lighter than my old one and has a larger capacity - but still keeping its “mini” status. I appreciate that the cord winds up under the chopper for easy storage. Very powerful and easy to clean. (See pics for size comparison to other countertop appliances.)

I wish there were no edges on the inside of the bowl, it makes scraping out with a spatula harder

all are like this, but the image did not show the edges throughout the bowl. when removing let's say a thick pudding with a rubber scraper, those edges on the inside of the bowl are annoying. I bought this one because the images showed no edges, but they are there ...... Argh! but it's a nice little machine, it works well but I wish I didn't have to stand there and hold down the switch for chop and grind. you have to hold that down the entire time .....

This is a very nice little chopper. It does cut things a bit fine, but it’s beautiful to use. I’m considering buying each of our sons one for Christmas next year.
