So far so good. See how many years I can get out of this pump

The pump was easy to install with an 1 1/2 PVC male adapter and a check valve. Placed it in the sump basin, plugged it in, and had the water pumped out quick. Checked throughout the day and it is working great. The float switch is definitely a better design than most. It cannot get hung up as easy as other designs. Considering it was a 1/4 less in price than the equivalent Zoeller I always use, and had an extra two pounds of cast iron for heat dissipation made it seem like a good deal. If it dies anytime soon I will update the listing to junk, I always get more than three years from a Zoeller.

Cheaper, better and Way more reliable than the Homedepot Junk !

I had a new pump from HD (Everlast brand, but really should be called Neverlast) with a super long warranty that failed in less than a year and HD did not want to help me. The clueless plumbing Dept. guy said that the only way to have it fixed/replaced/refunded is to call the number in the instruction manual. The HD store manager was as helpful as a bag of mulch. So I had to call the Neverlast folks at the number listed in the manual. Well, they never answer and never, NEVER returned calls. So I recalled that my other old, way old pumps are Little-giant branded and are very reliable. RED LION is a sub-brand of Little-giant (a brand of some big electric motor company), so I decided to try it. Very similar in design to the Little-giant version but some parts are plastic instead of cast metal. Very reliable.

Highly efficient pump

Great sump pump, powerful and quiet. I ordered this particular pump because it is more efficient than the pump I have been using, i.e., pumps more water with less electricity. I measured 6 amps with pump operating, pump it replaced had less capacity but drew 8 amps. Full specs are on the Red Lion website. Efficiency is important to me because I have the pump on backup power through a high quality sine wave inverter and I want the batteries to last as long as possible during a power outage. The pump appears to be very high quality, heavy cast iron housing with what looks like stainless steel hardware. Interestingly, this pump is made by the same company which makes Little Giant Ladders, I have one of those and it is the best all purpose ladder I have ever owned, so I felt comfortable paying a little extra for this pump.

Died after 1 month of use

Installed in early Sept. 2022. Pump stopped working on Oct. 22nd 2022. Not happy! And. Amazon says I cant return it or get refund because time has expired! It has been less than two months...this is terrible customer service!
