Where have these things been my whole life?

I wasn't sure about buying these, but at 15 clams shipped, I gave them a try. And wow, how did I live without these? Pros: You can grab a massive amount of leaves for each time you bend over, which means less bending over and less back pain later. You keep your hands out of the bug-infested leaves, poison ivy, thorns, etc when you're picking that stuff up. They have a slight rake effect with their jagged front edge. They are just surprisingly enjoyable to use. Cons: I think the handles could be better, perhaps a thick black foam type. Or foam-wrapped metal. They seem just a little thin, but completely usable. I just find sometimes I'm not holding them the way they are intended, and I realize I'm subconsciously trying to get more grip or leverage. They work well. But in a perfect world, they might be improved upon slightly. So far, they haven't broke. They move a ton of leaves per grab, so you can get those big piles loaded into your leaf bags pretty quickly. I paired these with 4 Plintons 72 gallon yard waste bags w/ zippered tops. And tell you what, I can move a massive amount of leaves from the ground into my truck in 4 clean sealed semi-rigid bags surprisingly fast. Those bags are worth a look! Wherever you're going to put your leaves, a set of rake hands like these is well worth it. You don't have to bend over as many times to pick up the leaf pile. You don't have to bend down nearly as far to grab the leaves. You don't have to put your hands into the dirt and leaves. If you're like me and have lots of leaves to rake up, get yourself a set of these, or something like them. These hands are surprisingly worthwhile. I bought these because the price was great, and I was just dipping my toes into the pool, unsure they were going to be worth it. Now that I know they are, I would not be afraid to spend 30 to 40 bucks on a fantastic set. I don't know if other brands are better than these. These work fine. I'm just saying whatever they cost, they're worth it. And so far, these inexpensive ones seem to be holding up well. Just don't abuse them.

Works, but rough on your forearms

I have too many trees around my yard that dump probably 50+ bags worth of leaves into my yard. These giant salad tongs work well to pick up a lot of leaves at once, but are still small enough that I can shove the leaves into the yard trimming bags without difficulty. I took one star off because the pressure from pinching the leaves all hits in your forearms. This design could be improved if there was padding provided for your forearms so you don't get weird bruising/tender spots if you have to bag a billion leaves like I do. Overall, it's a useful tool and I recommend it.

SUPRISINGLY EFFECTIVE

you may feel awkward at first but once you pile up the leaves and start the pick up to bag process, you'll wonder why you haven't bought these sooner. inexpensive, lightweight and not to mention, you may feel like the hulk using them. AWESOME!

Time saver

This is a great item to have. I got it to help pick up leaves to save time but I have a lot of snakes in my yard and this helps keep my hands away from the ground.

Could be better

4 stars just because it's cool product. Really 3 is my honest opinion, for me it when I use it to pick up leaves it's hard to hold it with or without gloves. It does help/speeds up leaves picking but feels kinda clumsy

Pour les feuilles, aucun commentaire négatif à faire, tout va bien et c'est très pratique ! Parcontre après l'acte, je me suis retrouvée avec les bras enflés et rouges au niveau des poignets (parce que le produit cogne constamment sur les bras), et dès le lendemain, j'ai eu d'énormes ecchymoses et c'était très douloureux ! Je conseille de porter des vêtements épais à manches longues, pour absorber les chocs des coups

So great!

Clever inventions one buys so often don't pan out. They're either not quite what you expected, or they just don't work as well as you hoped. You end up never using them. Not so with garden hand rakes. I love these! I used them last fall and it make leaf clean up a breeze. Totally recommended!

Not for wet leaves

These looked okay and felt okay in the hand... But... About 5 minutes into some wet leaf cleanup the handle broke off. Might be good for extremely light duty use, and trust me, dry leaves only!! Soon as you put stress on this plastic it will snap.

Does the job.

I used these paddles today on wet grass clippings. The paddles easily pick up the clipping and even easier collecting leaves.
