Great Drum Shade for under $100

At just $93, this shade is very reasonably priced and looks perfectly fine. With the coordinating $45 3-light brushed nickel stem, it is definitely one of the most affordable drum pendants out there. Because you can see the brackets holding the diffuser, it looks a little cheap. If affordability is important, this light is just fine. If you want a high dollar look, you may be disappointed.

Very stylish , difficult to assemble

I wanted to start by saying that we love the way this light looks. But unless you have hung a ceiling light before it is tricky to install. It took us 5 hours and a trip to Home Depot. First there a very minimal instructions they assume you have done this before. Second the shade itself slides onto the lamp pole but we have had to use some duck tape to keep it from sliding off from the lamp itself as it slides on with an open hook like device that does not fasten and has no explanation as to how to prevent it from falling off the light as it hangs. Although we are happy with the way the lamp looks it needs to come with instructions for assembly.

Perfect drum shade

I have been looking for a hanging drum pendant like this since 9/2020. Crate and Barrell used to carry one but no longer. Perfect look and fit for my dining room.

Nice shade but the seam is pretty visible.

The shade is very nice. I especially like the diffuser since it casts a nice even glow across the bottom of the shade. You cannot tell where the bulbs are or how many. My only complaint is the seam where the fabric ends meet. It's a bit wide (3/8") and darker than what I'd expect from two layers overlapping. Purchased the separate 3 bulb hardware kit. (Progress Lighting P5199-20 - Antique Bronze which is really a soft black) Nice quality kit. Bulb socket holders are ceramic, Universal mounting plate, multiple length extenders, shrinkwrap tubing. Easy to install but needed 2 extra screws to mount plate to ceiling box.

Big Round Shade with Bottom Diffuser

I bought this shade thinking that it was oval from looking at the photo. What an awesome designer look that would be! After all, my dining table is long. Turns out it's actually round, but that works too--just means the ends of the table are not as well lit. It is a little bigger than I expected, so I could not mount it as low as I initially wanted because anyone leaning towards the center of the dinner table would bump their heads against the shade. As pointed out by others, it is well made. It has a nice piece of plexi which fits into the bottom of the shade to diffuse the light. One side is frosted--I installed it facing down because the instructions are completely uninformative--giving it a nice added touch. It functions well, diffusing the hot spots of the bulbs so they are virtually invisible from below, and casting a very even light. Compared to our chandelier this replaced, the walls are darker, but the table top is noticeably brighter. Overall this is not what I would call a steal, but a good buy. I wish it came in more colors than just beige and white.

LOVE IT!

Have been looking for a neutral drum light for dining room and not finding exactly what I wanted. Took a chance with this and am more than thrilled! Color is perfect with my oak furniture and cream woodwork. Shade has a soft, linen texture when illuminated and appears darker than beige, more of a yellow/tan. The diffuser fits tighter than some drum lights I have seen and looks better than I could have imagined! My biggest concern involved the 3 light stem color choices. I prefer black and it is not available. My intention was to spray paint it so it would match my curtain rods, but much to my amazement, the antique bronze is dark enough to pass for black. I installed it myself in less than an hour and can't wait for my husband to come home and see the great job I did. Also would like to add that this shade has a bit of a retro feel and I am using it in a decor that is more Danish Modern, but you could use it in just about any setting. I give this shade and pendant two thumbs up!!!!

Record worthy FAIL

Spare yourself the trouble - this shade WILL arrive crinkled and crunched. I ignored other reviewers and ordered since this light was exactly what I wanted. Some reviewers said they were keeping the lamps to avoid the hassle of returning. Impossible in my case; the light was too crushed for anything except the landfill. the shade is 22" in diameter and was packed in a 20" box. Huh? Who thought that was a good plan?

Nice Look !!

I installed this for my wife as part of her Christmas present. I had to re-located the dining room ceiling light fixture to center the lamp over the kitchen table. The old chandlier was not centered as well, so nothing to do with this fixture. I used LED light bulbs and with the shade and diffuser, they cast a nice light tone and are dimmable. This shade gives a cleaner look over the kitchen table vs. the 5-light chandlier we had. Quality of the shade and hard is good and they ship with multiple length down rods that allow you to adjust the height as needed. Our ceiling is 8 foot and flat, so it was easy to install and get the height right. It does have an adjustable (hinged) pivot point at the base of the fixture which would allow for usage on a slanted ceiling. I recommend this shade.
