It does the trick
Nifty tool. It works well. I do wish the hex side was an inch deeper though. Not all light sockets are built the same and I came across some that the tool didn’t quite reach all the way.

Perfect fit for my bathroom light fixture socket rings
We recently purchased a home and needed to clean the globes on the bathroom light fixtures. After removing the bulbs my hand just simply would not fit into the narrow globes to loosen the socket rings. Fortunately I found this tool which made the job very easy. Thanks!!!!

Fits American standard light bulb -ring holder thingy
House was built in 2021 with builder grade lights. The small side has grooves and they matched up quickly with my retainer ring thing.. so happy I can change these shades out finally!

This product does mot fit 2" od/1&1/2 id light shade rings.

Got job done!
This worked great on removing retaining rings on normal ceramic light sockets and held fast on one that was a chipped and stuck.
