Simple fix! Awesome
My ten+ year old vita mix was having trouble adjusting speeds after we shipped it during a move. I’d go to blend soup and it would shoot clear to the lid on speed 1. It would also go fast and then slow constantly, not stopping on a designated speed. I got this to try before I sunk money into a new one, as they’re pretty spendy for my budget. So happy to say it fixed my problem. I’ve never done anything like replacing this part and it was easily doable. Saved me hundreds.

I could have gotten one locally that properly fit and cheaper but didn't know at the time
It works and is just about back to speed. This one did not fit my unit (5000) so I ended up taking the blender to the shop in my town to see what we could do. He put it on for free and glued it so it wouldn't move and told me next time call him and it will be the right one. Well, I hope there isn't a next time but at least it works. I recommend to look at the part before you but a new one.

Does not fit very old Vitamix 5000
I have a very old Vitamix 5000 (15+ years). It uses the black potentiometer show in the picture. It is significantly smaller and it is flat. The new one didn’t fit. I screwed the new one in while holding it in the right position. Hopefully it will stay in place. Nevertheless, the new one works and the variable speed works fine.

The description made it difficult to discern if it would work. It wasn’t the right one for my vitamix model but we didn’t want to return and my clever, skilled husband did a little modification and it works perfectly.

Replacement for 5200 potentiometer
Fits 5200 blenders. Easy install - it does not matter which wires go where on the board, this potentiometer has no polarity.

Easy fix to our outdated Vita-Mix!
Excellent upgrade for our really old Vita-Mix (15 or so years! Vita-Mix 5000 model VM0103. The potentiometer wasn’t the same and it clearly needed a fix. Easy to install, if you know how to use a screwdriver! Purchased this and it works like new! The only con would be the value, it was too expensive.

It is the part I was looking for.
I installed this on my older vitamix 5200 without any problems. I watched a YouTube video beforehand to make sure I would do it correctly. The part is different then what was inside my machine but put fit in perfectly. I started the machine and tried it before screwing everything back together, I think the part can go in backwards. Everything g worked out great.

Fixed the problem
Used this to fix the speed control on my old Vitamix. I only needed a couple screwdrivers and some needle nose pliers to do the job. Machine works like new now, saving me money and keeping it out of the landfill.

Perfect Replacement for the Vitamix 5000
Plug and play replacement for my aging but powerful Vitamix 5000. If your Vitamix has jumpy/inconsistent rpm’s, buy this potentiometer. It took a total of 5 minutes to install the new part - several online tutorial videos show every step. Just make sure that the small plastic tab sticking out at the back of the new potentiometer fits directly into the indent on the back of the mixer’s plastic housing, as this ensures that the knob on the front starts at 0 to the extreme counterclockwise and 10 to the extreme clockwise positions. Highly recommended and easy DIY project to keep your Vitamix 5000 running as good as new.
