It really gives a clean feeling to teeth and helps the gums too.

I'm pleased with this purchase. I was having swollen gums and tooth pain, but nothing was wrong with the teeth in the area. Dentist did some gum work in case there was something lodged under the gums. The dentist recommended I try using this machine to help the gums and should also be a help when it's time for a dental cleaning. It comes with a couple heads for gentle cleaning and one for stains, using a diamond head. I bought a PKG of 3 very gentle heads that are more for the gums. Using a regular toothbrush I was getting the gums irritated, but when I received this toothbrush, it was soothing on my gums and the swelling went down in a couple days. I definitely recommend this product and the battery has gone 5 days so far for me without needing a charge, which caught me attention when looking for one, because many reviews talked about the battery life between charges going for up to 15-21 days. Great for traveling and not needing to carry the charging unit with a battery charge lasting 2-3 weeks.

It’s fairly quiet and fits well in the hand

Once I decided on Sonicare, spent a while comparing models to get the most bang for my buck. I went with the 5300 with 3 heads, in part due to the days between charging. At home, it sits on the charger anyway, but if I travel, don’t want to bring the base. And really- if the battery stops working when I’m out of town- not the end of the world, can still use it to manually brush. The head was small anticipated, but I’m liking it. The travel case is huge and unnecessary. I already have a couple toiletry kits and the brush fits in those. Try as I might, I never get to 2 minutes, but I am brushing longer than I was previously. The only weakness, in my opinion is that it stutters or pauses if I press too hard. Okay, so I try not to do that, but never had that issue with disposable electric brushes. I encourage you to also compare all their models before making a purchase. One more thing, it came with an unexpected coupon- if I registered, they’d send me a free head. The form was incompatible with this model number.

Lasted through a 20-day cruise/trip and comes in an excellent solid travel case!

I bought this to replace my old bulky sonicare and to take for our total 17-day Europe trip and couldn't be happier with the purchase. It came with two replacement heads and a sleek, solid plastic snap closure travel case which is exactly what I needed because a few years back, my older model sonicare was accidentally turned on during the entire flight and promptly died when I retrieved my luggage and noticed a strange humming sound. Back then, Sonicare did not provide solid case to prevent accidental button press nor (still) do not have a locking function. Well, problem forever solved with this well-made, solid travel case that prevents accidental button press! I used it twice a day and because the cycle is a bit short for my liking, I usually went over 1 cycle by turning it on again and brushing for about 20-30 seconds more. And only on like the last day did the battery warning finally come on and I had to switch to manual brushing on the last day or so. Needless to say I was super impressed! (I purposely didn't bring charger after reading reviews that said it holds up 14 days' charge no problem) I will say that the brushstrokes feel slightly on the gentler side and pressing in on it will signal that I'm using too much force... so that was something I had to get used to because I was used to pushing it in more with my old sonicare that sounded like a twin turbo jet boat. But each time, my mouth just felt so clean, so no qualms! My old sonicare is humming its last breaths so I'll be replacing it with this one and use it for both at-home and travel uses! A great electric toothbrush.

Stopped charging

Love this but stopped charging 1 year and 10.5 months after purchase. Hope warranty is honored. Update - after reaching out to Philips, they honored the warranty. Received a replacement charger and handle within five days! Awesome customer service! Changing from 1 Star to 5 stars!

New toothbrush

I was skeptical at first because I had my old toothbrush for many year till it just stopped working but this one is better. The battery last longer and it has different settings on it plus a censor so I don’t brush to hard.

Larger then expected, but great product

Overall great product. Super happy with the quality. Charger does not fit the travel case. If you are looking for a compact version consider 4100. However this one has longer battery life! Good luck!

Only 1 brushhead

On the product image and in the description it says "The kit includes 1 optimal gum Care brush head and 2 extra diamond clean brush heads." However my package only included 1 brush head.

Best technology available for keeping your teeth and gums healthy, and keeping your dental bills to a minimum. I have used the Philips Sonicare system since 1996. Since that time, my last visit to the dentist was a shock to the tech, as I had very little plaque along the gumline, and the teeth and gums were marked as healthy by the dentist. This new system is the best ever, with bluetooth tech to link to your phone so you can monitor and track your teeth cleaning practices, and it helps to create good dental hygiene. The up down motion of the ultra sonic system is much much better than the rotational brushing motion of another system, and don't be fooled, that side to side motion can score your teeth along the gumline! (why do you think they tell you to brush up and down, vs side to side). I highly recommend this system if you want healthy and good dental hygiene.

Good but maybe not the best option

I had a Sonicare E-series from Phillips for years and years and now sometimes have trouble finding the replacement heads so went for this new one, seduced by the black sleekness of it. And it is fine but not quite as nice as my old e-series workhorse, seems a more fragile creature and sometimes stops vibrating briefly if I press the bristles too hard against my teeth- not sure if this is a bug or a feature. All in all I prefer the old one; I didn't feel as if I had to thank it or apologize to it after every use.

Poor quality, no customer service.

Have owned this toothbrush for 4 months approximately and the brush head doesn't work anymore, it's just incredibly loud and rattle sounding when you turn it on... Can't find any Online support for replacement, says warranty is covered for 24 months but haven't been successful. Owned one also before which the exact same thing happened to after 6 months... 2 tooth brushes, $300.00 later in under a year, no thank you Phillips. Really disappointed in this product... will be switching to Oral-B.

Best Bang For Your Buck!

This thing is great! I used to buy the cheap ones for like $50 every couple years but then I decided to grab a higher end model. I am blown away at how much better it is than my older and more simpler model. It looks and feels very high quality. Sure, some extra features aren’t really necessary, but I feel this model does a good job of balancing just the right amount of technology with practicality. The vibration quality and battery life is what’s mostly amazing when compared to lower models. I’m very happy with this unit. It’s the best version in my opinion because it has all the new technology of the high-end models plus it comes with three brush heads which can cost $50 or more on their own, so when I picked this up on sale for just over $100, it was a steal! I’m pleased with this device.
