Leaking

When I first received this feeder I never filled it completely up because I live in the desert and I don’t want the nectar to spoil (plus I only have 2-3 hummingbirds feeding from it but I noticed it leaking and I think I figured out why. Seems like it only starts to leak when I TOP OFF the nectar. So should be fine if you only fill once. I suggest adding a metal circle or metal S for hanging. Other then that I really like the feeder and I noticed the hummingbirds like the perches. I called the number they provided with the feeder if you have any issues and they did not know why it was leaking but said there is a 1 year warranty and they were willing to send me a new one! Overall I am happy with the purchase!

Leaks !!

I have bought three (3) of these one (1) for our home and the other two (2) as gifts. Very happy at the start of using it but now it continues to leak! Not just mine but the others I gave as gifts : (

Love the Himmingbirds

We have SO many hummingbirds that visit or house We have to refill everyday. The greatest part is that the top unscrews so you can easily refill without the messy flipping over like other models. Definite buy if you’re a fan of hummingbirds in your yard!

Leaked like crazy

Very disappointed in this feeder. Loved the soft ports but nothing I need kept the nectar from squirting out all over the place. All I wanted was something not yellow to keep the bees away. I have plenty for the bees on my garden but wanted the hummingbirds to have peace while resting.

Screw tight!

Very easy to clean but it will start to drip if not put together correctly. The jar must be on tight.

Large opening

I gave four stars...no clear instructions. I took out the foam ring because it was not coming down into the main feeder. The hummingbirds would ignore this feeder, once the foam was out they started to feed from the feeder. I do like that it is easier to put the nectar in because of the large opening and it is easy to clean.

replace the hanging hook

We really like this feeder. The one problem is the hanging hook will slip easily thru wet fingers. When my wife went to hang it up after refilling last night the hook slipped from her fingers. The glass broke when it hit the lawn. Is it possible to purchase replacement glass? We will be replacing the hook with a solid loop for hanging.

Hummingbirds love these!

I had one of these style feeders and two other styles. I ended up buying two more to replace the other styles. They don’t leak if tightened properly, so bees don’t visit them as much. They are easy to clean. The hummingbirds who visit here prefer this style feeder. I saw a butterfly visit one this year too!

LEAKS !

First one I purchased had a crack in it, second one leaked like crazy from the base, it is supposed to come apart for cleaning but it doesn't snap together or seal properly and it leaks your sugar water all over !!!! NOT impressed, now I would like to return this but it is no longer available, I wonder if this has anything to do with the poor design?

Loses nectar WAY too easily!!

The design looks very pretty and with it being red attracts hummingbirds nicely, BUT it's design causes the nectar to spill out of the holes way too easily. If the feeder even sways a tiny bit in a light breeze it's enough for the nectar to leak out. If we have any amount of wind it empties in less than a day. Even a light breeze will empty it in just a few days. Sadly this negates the ability to attract hummingbirds because the likelihood of the feeder being empty happens way too often. This causes it be a fairly costly feeder in the long run, not to mention that we've had to relocate the feeder so that it hangs over the lawn because the nectar is sticky and attracts ants. The last thing we want is to have ants crawling all over our deck, not to mention always having a sticky deck. We have the smaller version of this but the spouts where the nectar comes out of has a completely different design and the nectar stays inside as it should. I think that the cute little flower design is pretty, but sadly it's not practical.

Bye bye wasps hello hummers

I bought this feeder as several other feeders we tried leaked making a mess on our deck. This year the constant dripping from our other glass bottom filled feeder attracted hornets which aggressively chased of our hummers. I always had to shake the old feeder once a day too as it would get air locked. If I shook to much the leaking would be really bad! There were so many hornets around the hummers were having a hard time. Washing the new feeder was easier, had no problem with assembly. If it does not hang straight or if you tip it nectar will come out of the flowers though, but it does not have the air lock problem. We have had no leaks and within one day the hornets were gone and the hummers were back. Ours seem to like sitting on the perches they are delicate so being careful. We are really happy with this feeder and so are our hummers.

Started to leak

This feeder started to leak from the sides where the two large plastic halves screw together. There seems to be a small imperfection in the edges where the two come together. It was taken apart to fully drain it and clean it and when the two halves were put back together they leaked. Tried tightening tighter, and also less tight. Dripping was substantial. The rubber gasket inside seals fine.

Best hummingbird feeder!

This feeder is EXCELLENT! We have bought a number of feeders that leak and draw bees/hornets/ants we have had this and none of the above! The hummingbirds just hang out and drink nectar!! So pleased with purchase and would highly recommend!
