Feel amazing, great for backpacking!

I wore the mid version of these for a 17 day backpacking trip and they were great with a very short break in period. I got the shorter version for smaller hikes and they're amazing. Flat laces, grippy soles, waterproof, small sizes available and on the narrow side (I wear size 5.5) The Vaya has everything I was looking for in a shoe!

Stylish Color Fade, comfortable & breathable

These are a fantastic shoe. Very comfortable from the start, & especially comfortable over time as the Ortholite footbeds have broken in a bit. I can’t say enough about the beautiful color fade on the Salomon Vaya. This is actually the 3rd pair I’ve purchased. I didn’t ‘need’ to purchase more due to some type of failure in the shoe’s design or because the tread had worn down too much; it was because I wanted more COLORS lol!!! I also have a pair Vaya’s Gore-Tex that are just as breathable as this pair here I’m reviewing ;)

Durable

I hiked 750 miles contiguously with these shoes. The bottom is stiff enough to protect my middle aged feet. The shoe held together despite being worn in all kinds of inclement weather. Obviously fit is dependent upon your own physiology, but these have a decent size toebox. I did use an orthotic in the shoe but I would do that on any long hike. I have already purchased another identical pair for the last 700 miles of the Appalachian Trail...

Looked like a Nice Shoe -Just didn’t like the color

While this Salomon looked like a great shoe, my only negative was the color. It just wasn’t to my liking. No other problems with this shoe. Other reviews were great.

Great lightweight summer hiking shoes, but they run large

These are nice lightweight hiking shoes with lots of toe room and a fairly narrow heel. However, they do run very large. I usually wear 9 or 9.5 and bought a 9. At first I really liked them, but after I had worn them on a few hikes, I realized (too late) that I should have bought an 8.5, as my foot kept shifting around. I’ll continue to wear them with heavy socks, even though I bought them for summer hiking. They are not waterproof, by the way (although the boot version is).

Great Shoe But Runs Large

These are the best hiking shoes I've ever owned. With that said, they do run very large. I'm a size 8 in any type and brand of shoe ever, except these - had to return for a 7.5 and they are almost have too much room.

Lining at heal wears out quickly

First pair wore out this spot in 8 months. They were a little large and i liked them otherwise, so bought another pair in right size. Same thing happened. At this price they should last longer.

Great confortable shoes

Great hiking shoes, well made. Confortable out of the box, Good quality, very cute, not bulky. A tiny bit big but you need a bit bigger for hiking shoes. Bought size 8 as usual and they fit ok, with enough space for a big sock when needed in early spring and late fall. Didn't buy the gore tex ones because I wear them in summer also and gore tex doesn't breath well enough. Laces are a bit long but it's not all that important.
