5x magnification Actually More like 4x magnification
The Reviewer here with another honest review of the Tabletop Mount Vanity Mirror 1X/5X Magnification. I own several different 1x/5x and 1x/10x tabletop Mount Vanity Mirrors. All of the mirrors I have cost under $25 dollars. I found this vanity mirror 5x magnification to be more like 4x magnification. The magnification was not as close as some less expensive vanity mirrors that I have. The clarity was fine and the construction of the mirror stand was O.K. but. The mirror left and right supports do not hold the mirror in place when tilting one way or another very well. There is no way to tighten the mirror supports. This has been an issue noted by other reviewers. So, bottom line for the money it's not a bad mirror and I give it an acceptable O.K. rating as long as you understand the magnification, I believe is more like 1x/4x and there is no way to tighten the left and right mirror supports. The mirror is a nice round size and should be fine for most people. I hope this helps.

Correct size & love classy gold hardware
Unfortunately back (magnifying side) was slightly discovered along the edges. Didn’t want to wait to return & receive new one, so kept it.

Simple and attractive.
The 5x magnification is sufficient for what I want to see. I suppose 10x would be even more dramatic, or frightening, as the case may be. The stand is weighted and the entire unit seems solid and well made. Mine is silver chrome in color, not gold. A nice addition to the bathroom decor.

This mirror is well-built and does exactly what I need it to. The magnification side is strong.

It works...
This product works well. It didn't crack when I viewed myself in it so I figured the quality was pretty decent. My only complaint is that it was a bit of a pain to assemble but once assembled it's all good. It's heavy at the base and sturdy as it should be.

Doesn't stay put
This mirror is very basic - no bells or whistles. Easy to assemble but the reflection on the 5x side is distorted, and it would not stay in the angle I set it at which made it very frustrating for makeup application, which was the reason I purchased it. I would put it at an upward angle and it would fall back into vertical position. I chose not to return it because it is pretty and makes a nice home decor accessory, but as a functional mirror it is lacking.

Good quality mirror
This mirror is cute and perfect to use when applying makeup at a desk. It is pretty easy to assemble. A tip on assembly though: if the screw on the base isn't sticking out enough to attach it to the mirror, place the mirror on a solid surface (careful not to let it break). Flip the base over backwards and install it by holding the base over the mirror (instead of under the mirror like the instructions indicate). The screw on the base sticks out more this way and you can attach to the mirror more easily.
