Water in the Battery Compartment

We used this as a nice little decorative entrance to our tent. Worked okay but when we got a little rain it allowed water to enter the battery compartment. You would think they’d add a gasket since these are typically going to be used outdoors. Turned out to a one time use product.

Wish I had bought another set

It was my 1st camping trip ever ( Memorial weekend 2013)and I had read the possitive reviews of these string lights so I went ahead and ordered. I just can not describe how cute they are once they are hanging up. They are like a dozen or more of these little lanterns with a bulb inside. They light up very well the only bad thing is they are not that long. In my case I put them in the outside of my tent and clipped them with those wood sticks you use to hang clothes in the outdoors ( i bought them at dollar store). It was enough to cover the entrance of my tent, by the way my tent( ozark 17x8) has a rainfly that has an ark in the front which made it look so cute. I was planning to put them in the area of the picnic table but I forgot to bring string so I used them on the tent. I a previous review someone said it helped at night to find your tent and it is true. The people camping next to our site brought nothing to light up their area. We had just 2 tools, the Red coleman classic LED lantern $19 to light up all the outsside area of the picnic table, our car and the string lights for our tent in the outside. We these 2 it was enough to light up our site and theirs too. Do not get me wrong the campground I went had the tent sites one next to each other ( a little cramped)so my lights were enough to light up their section too. Once we turned everything off the neighbors were left in complete darkness and had to start a fire in the ring to give them some light. Once inside the tent I did bring my coleman lantern to light up the inside. I guess if you would use the string lights inside the tent they are enough to light it up. I put them in the outside so do not know. They were very convenient when going to the restrooms at night. I could see my tent with the lights from far and be sure I was going in the correct direction. The picture someone put here for a review are just the way they look. The little lanterns are pretty big. Of forgot to mention it rained and we left them out and nothing happened. We camped 2 nights and the batteries where enough. We turned the lights on at 6:30 pm until 11:30 each of the 2 nights and no problem with the batteries.

So bright you could land a plane. Insects love them.

I bought these because of the color and the brand. I’m a Coleman girl, dark green is my jam, and I’m a sucker for miniature things. Here’s what you need to know. I’ve had them for 2 seasons ✔️ Battery efficiency is good ✔️ Sturdy but lightweight ✔️ A little bulky/difficult to store ✔️ Button and battery pack are a little bulky and annoying Most importantly: the light is BRIGHT WHITE. Not only does it make your campsite feel like an ER hallway, these attract bugs majorly. See the night time pic and imagine my interior and exterior car lights are off; these are homing beacons. Like a string of mini parking lot lights, they draw in flying creatures from far and wide. I no longer hang these anywhere near my car tent or lounge areas because I’ve had beetles, bees, wasps, and moths flock to it more than any other competing light source. The light is so powerful they must find a way to it and let me tell you: they do. I’ve had flying beetles and bees in my car because these lights motivated them to find the chinks in my suv tent at night after being on for only 10 minutes. Great to turn on inside of a tent once everything is locked down *if you don’t mind bright white lighting* Not great for stealth, whether you’re trying to go below the radar of humans or insects. Keep in mind what your use case scenario is. For my and my needs, the brightness and the temperature keeps them from being a very functional part of my set up.

Owned 3 for a decade+, getting 2 more!

I bought 3 of these in 2011 and they have probably been to 150-200 campouts in that time. One finally broke (the wires broke at the battery pack, a natural weak point), so I am replacing it and getting 2 more to increase my camp lighting a bit. These are a good stand-alone light source if used strategically, such as along the inside of an EZ-Up or on tree branches. The lanterns making them stringing them in and out of something like the EZ-up a bit of a pain, but the smile I get every time I see tiny Coleman lanterns makes it worth it for me every time. These will go several long nights on a set of AAAs,. However, if they get left on all night, it's easy to miss that they are on during the day time, so I still brought a backup set for a weekend trip, just in case.

Great lights!

These are great camp lights! The light up well and I love the portability. I keep these in my camp box for my tent, sitting area, or unlit bathrooms. The only thing that could make this better is rechargeable lithium ion battery’s instead.

Bright lights

Was going to get two of these to put up under the edge of our retractable awning, glad I only got one. The rail of the awning os 12ft, but there are bars that close inwards so we could only use the 10ft in between. Plus, now they're more of an accent light. They're so bright, another string would have been too much for us. Best of all, they're miniature Coleman lanterns, how cool and memory-triggering is that LOL love it!

Coolest lights!

When I saw these lights I had to order a set for my daughter & her hubby for Christmas. They are avid campers and I thought they'd be a fun addition to their summer campsites. They are the coolest little lights! They hung them in their pop up ice fishing tent last weekend and they looked so neat! Very bright too..they provided pretty good light in the tent at night for string lights. Everyone was so impressed with them that I ordered a set for us and a friend of mine also ordered a set! Maybe a little pricey for string lights but the cool factor outweighs the price! Lol

Good, but are pricy for gimmicky plastic lighting

The only thing that I did not like is the price. Walmart US sells for half the cost, but this Canada. They are functional as a tent light. But where not as bright as boasted by other customers. Low level ambient lighting

1-Super bright 2-Great waterproofing set up re: battery location. 3-Easy on / off switch 4-Delighted with purchase Update -Nov.2021.... These lights have been in use for the better part of past 3 summers , still working well , no issues & still pleased with purchase.
