Great pump for fountains!
We bought this pump for a fountain I received through a buy nothing group that didn’t come with a pump. I wasn’t sure if it was going to be sized appropriately for our needs. This fountain has a 21” rise and an opening at the top of 11/16”. We attached flexible tubing to the pump outlet and ran it to the top of the fountain. The pump was definitely powerful enough, to the point it was jetting out the top at least 6” above the top of the fountain. We dialed back the adjustment on the pump, which made no appreciable difference. So we cut back the tube, let there be a bit of a gap between the end of the tube and the top of the fountain, so there was some spill back. That solved our problem and the water has about a half inch rise as it comes out the top of the fountain now. The automatic shut-off has been handy. We’ve accidentally left it on overnight once or twice and I’m glad it can turn itself off to avoid damage. We purchased a remote switch to turn the fountain on and off from inside our home, which as worked wonderfully and been so convenient. We have a smaller version of this pump in another fountain that has lasted for years and we’ve been very happy with it.

Perfect Replacement
This pump worked very well to replace the original in my fountain. It was also nice that it came with 3 different adapters to match up well with the fountain tubing.

Works great!
I've had it in my patio pond for over a month and haven't had any issues with it. Quiet and runs good! Its slight overkill for my pond and I turned it down and it was still a little to powerful but I looked at the owners manual and it suggested if its still to powerful to put a valve on the tubing and to use that to restrict it to fine tune the flow. That helped me to fine tune everything to get the spitter to shoot exactly how far I wanted it to. I used it for a spitter and I used half inch tubing and I have it lifting the water about 16" high, at that height it was a little to powerful and was easily able to shoot the water stream about 4ft. I had a hard time trying to figure out what size pump I needed to get the desired flow, the valve idea helped me to get it to work exactly like I wanted. Plus the valve idea shouldn't hurt the pump since restricting the flow in this way is no worse than increasing the height that the water is being lifted which restricts the flow in the same way. I'm happy with the purchase though I could've done a better job to find the right size pump to begin with. The pump works great though.

Does not come with water-tight stopper needed for your fountain's internal plumbing
Here's the problem: most fountains require a water-tight plug around the electric cord so that the water can't escape out the hole in the fountain through which the cord passes. While you may be able to salvage the old water type plug from you existing fountain, you will have to cut through the old extension cord to slide it off. This leaves you with the dilemma of how to get the old stopper onto the cord of your Little Giant Submersible Statuary Fountain Pump. 1. Option 1 is to disassemble the pump, remove the electric cord, slide the salvaged rubber stopper over the end of the cord, reattach the cord to the pump, and seal up the pump. Unfortunately, you have broken the pump's watertight seal in the process. 2. Option 2 is to cut the plug off the electric cord and slide the salvaged rubber stopper on from that end. Now you just have to rewire and tape the severed plug to the end of the cord. This is not a good idea if the cord is left out in the weather or buried in the ground, as eventually water is going to seep into the repaired cord. 3. Option 3 is to slice open the salvaged rubber stopper, slide it around the electric cord, and repair the cut stopper with silicon. The only alternative to the above surgical operations is to forget about the internal plumbing of the fountain and drape the electric cord over the edge of the fountain's water basin and let it dangle. That's very unsightly and presents a tripping hazard, as well as an obstacle to running a lawn mower or other lawn care tools around the fountain. Any replacement pump for statuary fountains really should come with a factory-installed stopper already on the electric cord. Unless you have the tools and patience to perform one the above operations, DO NOT BUY THIS PUMP!!!

An excellent replacement pump
This was an excellent low-cost replacement for a failed pump in one of my fountains. The unit works exactly as described, and has enough adapters to make it flexible enough to work with a variety of fountains and configurations. After about 2 weeks the unit did stop... I took it apart and could find nothing inside the unit that would block the rotor from spinning. Eventually I took a small screwdriver and "flicked" the rotor while it was plugged in, and the motor started back up. Since that time, I've had no problems with shutting off and restarting the motor. I have no idea why the problem happened one time, mechanically it doesn't make sense. I removed one star for this problem... but the pump is still working great today
