Fun toy to improve fine motor skills
The media could not be loaded. I was looking for a toy to improve my son’s fine motor skills and this toy turned out to be perfect for him. This is an interactive toy with light, sounds, and keeps my son entertained. The basic idea of this toy is to put the rings on the trunk. As you rings slide on the trunk they press some buttons that causes a voice to say the type or color of the rings that was just put on the trunk. The toy also asks to put a ring with specific color or a specific feature (such as ring with hearts or stars) on the trunk. FEATURES 1. There is a light-up push button in front of the trunk that lights up and sings a song when pressed. 2. Child has to stack rings on the inclined trunk. There are buttons on the trunk that are pressed when the ring slides onto it place and the toy says the type or color of the ring that was put on the trunk. My son likes to push these tiny buttons by his hand as well. 3. The tail of the elephant can be pressed as well. This causes the trunk to drop immediately (making an adorable sneezing sound) causing all the rings to slide out. 4. The toy also sings songs that are pleasant to hear. 5. The ears of the elephant toy can be rotated as well, which makes clicking noise. This encourages the child to turn and twist his hand as well. 6. This toy uses two AA batteries that are inserted at the bottom. The place where batteries go has a cover that is screwed in and cannot be easily opened by the child. MINOR ISSUE When you push the tail of the toy, the trunk drops immediately (causing the rings to slide off) and the trunk goes back up. It is supposed to snap back into to position, but sometime the trunk does not latch properly at the top position causing the trunk to droop downwards as you put rings back on the trunk. I have shown this in the attached video. At this point, you simply have to the trunk up and it latches onto its position. However, this a minor issue and does not interfere much with the enjoyment of the toy. COMPARISON WITH FISHER PRICE ROCK-A-STACK We already have the Rock-a-stack from Fisher price and even though these two products seemed very similar, my son finds the LeapFrog's toy much more fun. This toy differs from the Fisher's price stacking toy in following ways: 1. Leapfrog offers a little more difficulty level. The rings on this toy are smaller and have to be put at an inclined angle. In addition, the back of the rings are flat as compared to Fisher Price toy's rings that are round and easy to put on the stump. 2. This is more interactive as this toy has light up button, sounds, music, rotating ear and falling trunk. 3. LeapFrog's toy is smaller than Fisher Price's toy. 4. Fisher Price's toy does not need batteries, while Leapfrog’s toy does. 5. The base of Fisher price toy is spherical making it little more stable if my son hits it with his hand. Any nudge to the Fisher Price toy causes it to wobble, while Leapfrog's toy easily tips over. Overall, I like LeapFrog's toy better than Fisher Price's toy in terms of fun and value for money. THINGS I LIKED ABOUT THIS TOY 1. This is a very interactive toy. 2. The music is nice and the sounds this toy makes is adorable, 3. It offers more difficulty to put 4. The batteries last longer. This toy gets used frequently and I have not had to replace the batteries since last 4 months. SOME THINGS YOU WANT TO BE AWARE OF BEFORE BUYING THIS TOY 1. The base of this toy is little light, causing it to tip over sometimes very easily. The base of this toy could have been a little heavier making it more stable. 2. This toy has smaller rings, so the child might take more time to get the hang of this toy. My son tried and got flustered in the beginning, but now he loves this toy very much. You might have to be patient and give this toy some time before it becomes enjoyable for the kid. OVERALL IMPRESSION Having both Fisher Price and Leapfrog's toys, I feel LeapFrog's toy has better value for money. Our son found Fisher Price's toy to be easier of the two, but Leapfrog's toy offers more ways of using the hand. This toy will be an excellent gift even if they already have Fisher price Rock-A-Stack toy.

The Stack & Tumble Elephant is loads of fun and entertaining, but can be a bit tempermental at times ...
Ring stackers are well, boring, and not interactive. I’ve had the old-fashioned Fisher-Price Rock-A-Stack (who hasn’t?), but aside from simple instruction and play, there’s not much to it. In this house we adore anything “Leap Frog” and the Stack & Tumble Elephant is a big hit. She sings about numbers, shapes, and colors as well as says that’s she’s happy. The sneezing is absolutely adorable! Now, this is one Elephant that will need a bit of supervision and help. I’m finding that performance can be a bit quirky or temperamental at times. One thing that’s a must is keeping the Stack and Tumble Elephant on a level surface AND keeping her trunk straight up before starting. If not, it’s hard to sequence the rings as the nose dips and the rings fall off. The sequencing is not always consistent and sometimes after pressing the tail I get the same two concepts in a row. Also every now and then if a ring goes on at a slight slant nothing happens. For example I’ll get colors then numbers, but have to play around to get the shapes. The only way to get the color / number / shape sequencing is to let the Stack & Tumble Elephant go completely through a sequence before trying to move to the next. The tail lever needs to be pressed (the rings fall off), then the nose needs to be pressed, and repeat until Elephant tells you everything she knows about these colors, numbers, and shapes. Below I’ve listed some of the phrases, but there are a few more. There are no specific instructions save a brief introduction, a line drawing of the Stack and Tumble Elephant and a couple of cautionary notes. The numbers / shapes / color “performances,” are actually sequenced. If say when working with numbers, I go from two to five, the Stack and Tumble Elephant will let me know it’s a five. There are sensors on her trunk that tell Elephant which ring was placed. Our little ones love it, but for optimum performance Elephant could use a bit of tweaking. When an adult helps, there are fewer quirks. The ears make a great clicking sound and can be twisted this way and that. The little color sensors on the trunk will “announce” the number when touched. There is a volume control (a must in some households), which I find quite handy. This can be a great instructional tool or a simple toy. No matter what purpose Elephant is used for, she’ll be a huge hit! •► PHRASES: Achoo, let’s play! Put rings on my trunk! Press the tip of my trunk! I get the sniffles from colors, but I love them, don’t you? Colors make me ah, ha, ah-choo! Orange, purple, red, yellow, green. You make me happy! Twist my ears! I like you! I get the sniffles from numbers, but I love them, don’t you? Numbers make me ah, ha, ah-choo! One, two, three, four, five. Yeah, one two, three, four, five rings. Can you find the ring with the number three? Ooopsy, daisy, there go the rings! I get the sniffles from shapes, but I love them, don’t you? One circle. Two hearts. Three triangles. Four squares. Five stars. There are also a variety of noises as well.

Adorable!
I purchased this for my 9 month grandson. What he likes about it, the nose! He can use his fingers to push the end of the nose and get the sound. He also likes to carry the rings around. It is super cute. I bought it for him to play with while he was visiting me. But it was so stinking cute his mom took it with her for him to enjoy at home.

Cute smaller stacking toy for babies
I really loved this. It is good for hand and eye coordination as well as when your little gets a bit older and it has the numbers on each of the rings with different shapes.

Best toy ever!
Absolutely brilliant toy, teaches my 8 month old baby all about colours and shapes. He is very engaged with the elephant and always plays with her. He loves the music she plays too. I would definitely recommend this for babies.
