Nice all-in-one kit to introduce children to latch hook crafts

This kit is a very nice craft for my 9-year-old. The set comes with everything needed (including the latching tool) and it is easy to display as soon as it is finished. The canvas size is ideal; it is big enough to be an enjoyable project, but not so large that the assembly becomes boring or protractive. The instructions are fairly clear. Having done similar kits before, I recommend starting on a lower corner and working one's way across, one horizontal row at a time; this keeps uniform tension on the canvas grid and makes it easy not to accidentally miss a square. The bound edges are a nice feature, as it eliminates any extra sewing needed after completing the yarn work. The yarn length seems shorter than I recall in kits of my youth, but it's manageable with the latching tool. Overall, a solid all-in-one crafting kit for any child.

Fun latch craft, but better for older, patient kids

This is a complete craft kit for ages 6+ to introduce them to latch hooking. - it includes the mat with color printed design - latch hook - yarn My 8yo was super interested but it is slow and she is impatient, lol. The yarn quality seems to be just Ok. It frays a bit and it can be tricky when pulling tight. Overall the instructions are helpful and there are several tips and tricks. Would recommend for kids 10+ who would have more patience.

Giftable craft

My 7 year old loves crafts, but I've been holding onto this to give her for her 8th birthday. I think that will be a better age for something like that. It came with everything we needed and I know she'll think the design is super cute! I think it would be a great gift for any kid who enjoys art and crafting.

Nice Rainy Day Activity

I ordered two of these kits and they made a nice rainy day activity for my 6 and 7 year olds. The instructions were pretty straight forward and was similar to exactly how I remembered doing these latch kits as a kid. The yarn frays a bit easily and the yarn was just a tad short making it hard to pull through for little fingers. I remember the yarn from my childhood being a lot more durable but I do have to admit that this yarn feels much more soft though harder to use. The one thing I do like from this kit is that the mesh has a edging sewn into them so it isn't frayed. The sewn edging also has two loops at the top making it easy to hang. While my kids can do this activity, it has been slow going so it might take a while for them to actually finish the kit. Overall a fun design and I'm hoping it will keep my kids interest for a while. Fun craft with bright colors

Everything is as advertised and the materials are all satisfactory. The coordination required to do the hook and loop process is still a little beyond my just-turned-6-year-old, but she's excited to work on it little by little when she's in a good mood. At the very least she enjoys watching me do it and I enjoy doing it too.

so much fun

This little latch hook set is so much fun. The design is really cute and the yarn colors are super bright. The hook works well and is easy to use once you get the hang of it. The design is printed on the rug base to easily do this without referring back to a pattern all the time. Would recommend as a great gift for a craft-loving kiddo.

Latch-hook kit

This PlayMonster LATCHKITS Cupcake Crafts, Pink comes with the canvas grid, yarn, latch hook, and instructions. I love that the canvas grid already has finished edges, since most kits don't come with finishing material. This small size makes the rug perfect for beginners, since it is a much shorter project. It is still large enough to take several hours and provide plenty of entertainment. I find it very meditative. The pre-printed colors on the canvas grid are easy to read. My latch hook did come with a small flaw in the plastic, right where I rest my finger. Luckily, I had a second latch hook that I could use instead. I think this is a very nice craft kit, and the resulting rug is cute. It would make a good gift.
