Assembled, then broke! Then fixed, hooray.

I put this lamp together, stood it upright, and shortly thereafter it keeled over, detaching from the base. See the 3 customer images added to the manufacturer's image. The lamp is over balanced because of the arching design. The base is a squared u-shape designed to offset this imbalance, but the sole attachment point is a round metal piece that is tack-welded into the main vertical tube. Bolt the vertical tube tube to the base and all the strain is on those tack welds. I can't say if it fails over time for more people, but I got about 5 minutes of vertical lamp, and up to now just horizontal lamp. I saw it starting to list to one side and when I got over to examine it, "there she goes", but -- I caught it on the way down. I have prepped all the pieces and will "J. B. Weld" it back together using that super-strong metal epoxy. I will update this review later with my results. I hope you understand why this review is not about the color, function, or use of the lamp. **UPDATE**UPDATE** The lamp was successfully repaired/epoxied and has held together and worked fine. I took off the shades, went outside, and lightly spray painted the outsides in black. They are now a crinkly charcoal-looking color and most of the light streams out the top and bottom. These shades are a white, translucent TYVEK type material, so they look crinkled and will always look that way, even after hanging from the lamp structure. I now have very bright 35 watt CFL bulbs (= to 150 watt conventional) in all sockets and the light bounces off the ceiling and floods the floor without blinding everyone in the room. The switch allows one bulb on, or two other bulbs on, and finally all 3 bulbs turned on. It is as bright as the 600 watt quartz torcherie it replaced, all with only around 100 watts!

Beautiful

The lamp came in a rather small box and I thought it would be very hard to put together, but to my surprise, it was not. I did it by myself in under 20 minutes. Trust me, if I can do it anyone can. They even include the wrench you need, and it is angled so it works well. The lamp fits well in my house, it is not too tall, which I was somewhat worried about. Overall it is about 6 feet tall. The arms move side to side, but not up and down. Each light takes up to 100 watt bulb, so it can give a lot of light. You can choose to turn one, two or all three on. The shades are very wrinkled when you first hang them, but now after two days they are looking better. The finish is a dark brown with rubbed edges. Very nice. One thing I didn't like, it is "Made in China". Would not have bought it had I known, but couldn't find that info anywhere in the listing or the reviews. The lamp is a five star, but deducted one for country of origin.

Nice lamp, but not as advertised.

I purchased this lamp to stand behind a desk to provide a bit more light, and it was just what I needed: adequate height, fits our decor, and was advertised as rubbed bronze metal. The metal however, is NOT bronze, it is 100% black. There are lines of copper on the joint lines on the stand at the bottom and also on the joint where the arcs connect to the lamp post, which I suppose the manufacturer thought would suffice to call it "bronze." I also gave it three stars due to the difficulty in putting it together; the lamp post comes in two parts (this is typical), but the threads on the joint to connect them are TINY and metal, and jumped the tracks almost immediately, causing it to jam before completely assembled. I remedied this by using a small amount of baby oil (it's what we had) to lubricate it a bit, then it worked fine. Other than that, all the pieces were there, nothing came broken, and I really like the design, so I didn't return it.

Great Lamp for the Price

I needed a lamp for a corner behind a couch against a wall and was having trouble finding something that would fit; all the other lamps had circular bases with the pole up the middle - which would have made me move the couch away from the wall. Because the base is off-set, this is a perfect lamp for where I needed it! The only thing I didn't like is that all the parts that screw together didn't screw together easily, it seemed like everything was a struggle and assembly was NOT as easy as I had hoped, definitely a two person job. Other than that, the settings give you lots of choices if you want 1,2 or 3 lights on, the arms swivel and the shades are cute.

Perfect fixture to use with Smart LED Light Bulbs and Amazon Echo

I was looking for a light fixture to use withLIFX (A19) Wi-Fi Smart LED Light Bulb . This is perfect! With the smart LED light bulbs, each light can be adjusted individually or as a group. Also addedLogitech Pop Home Switch Starter Pack for One-Touch Control of Smart Home Devices In Any Room to be able to turn the lights on/off/dim from a programmed button. The lamp itself has a single push-button switch at the base to turn all 3 lights on/off. Using the Amazon Echo, I am able to turn on all lights as a group or individually, set the brightness "Alexa, set room lights to 60 percent", change color "Alexa, set light 1 to red"

LOVE but............

I love this lamp. It fits well with the decor of my living room. BUT.....it doesn't work right. I can only get all three bulbs or two to light up and can't get it to turn completely off so I have to reach behind my couch to plug and unplug it when I use it. I'm going to take the sections apart later and see if I can figure out what's wrong. I love it so much I will probably just deal with it if I can't make it work.

Not quite as advertised....

This light is not dimmable, there's simply a floor switch that clicks on and off. In addition, the color is black, not rubbed bronze. I suspect a slightly lesser model is being subbed for the one described. Unpacking it is very easy, just slide the styrofoam box out of the cardboard box, cut the tape holding the two sides of styrofoam together and everything lifts right out. The interior cords are all longer than the column tubes, don't bother trying to wiggle the thick wire down as you can't, just fold the excess in half and slide that into the tube, then tighten. Other than those issues, the lamp does a decent job of throwing light and the shades look as good as in the picture (the only saving grace, otherwise it would have been returned).

It is not good if you put it where someone can touch. It is long and a bit wiggly. But everyone who comes into my house falls in love with it The lighting is great

A bit tricky to get the extra wiring in the stand but just push it in, two people installation definitely helps. Lamp is beautiful when assembled, love the on/off foot switch and three bulbs make nice amount of light.
