I looove these things!

I have had great luck with the Amazon Warehouse Deals (usually means an opened return or the box got a bit scuffed). Good way for broke folks like me to get this great product. I use both these cushy ones and the hard black ones, in different spots, for housecats indoors and a feral out in the shed. I have five or six now and the oldest must be around 5y, zero problems so far. I advise plugging it in in a supervised spot the first couple days just in case it overheats or something, like with any heat producing device. The only flaw I ever had was one got through chewy, which I believe was counterfeit (cord was stinky, where the real ones are a nice odorless, inert plastic). All the ones I got here have been perfect. As for the valve that seems to confuse people so much... the manufacturer sucks all the air out of the foam inside these, so they take up less room in storage I guess. All we do with the valve is let enough air in to allow the foam to expand back to its natural size. The change is subtle. After I have had it open and heating for a day so the foam is fully fluffed up, I will compress the heatpad a wee bit before closing the valve, to avoid it being too full of air, like a sealed bag of chips. With some air squeezed out you get a more comfy, squishable pad texture that features the foam more than the air. Also, if you seal it up really full of air, it could rupture if you step on it or other such mistake. As for another detail people wrongly complain about- whether it gets hot enough- these are only slightly abive ambient temp when idle. Which should be enough to attract the pet. Then the pressure of the animal sitting there turns it on and it reaches full temp. Which still isn't as hot as a heat pad like you use on a sore back! Those go on top of a person, so can be very hot. These get sat/laid on, so the flesh in contact with them is compressed, with curculation reduced, and could burn if the pad was really hot. These are set to only get as hot as is safe. And only activate when occupied. That's not a flaw it is necessary for safety. The cords are great too. Sturdy, even before the wire is added. And plenty long for most locations. Last detail to note: they are moisture resistant, to a degree. If your pet pukes or lies on this after they got rained on, no problem. Minor wetness like that. But they are NOT water resistant enough to be used outside in the rain. It is electric, after all. If you use it for an outdoor animal like my feral, you must put it in a sheltered area like a garage or a covered porch, so it isn't fully exposed to the weather.

Cats LOVE these

The media could not be loaded. I have 3 of these purchased over the years. I like the medium size. It gives our cats room to stretch out. Two cats can share a bed — and they do, but I’d recommend the medium for 1 adult cat. Our dog likes it too. I’ve tried out several brands/types of heated beds over the years. Each cat has their preferences but they ALL love these beds. The photos show how much. After getting up in the morning. I put these out on the bed. I couldn’t even get them set up without one of cats falling asleep on the stack. :D We originally bought one with the expectation of making a more comfortable spot for a couple of feral cats. I took it out and plugged it in just to check it out and my cat with arthritis got on it immediately and she has loved it ever since. The heat has been good for her arthritis. Of course, they all wanted to get on it so we had to get a few more. I am using these indoors but these are worth the price. I like that they don’t heat up until a cat gets on them. I’ve washed the soft covers many, many times and these have held up well. We ended up adopting the feral mom and kitten we bought the original bed for and they sleep inside now with us. She’s in the video.

Best pet heating pad around

I absolutely love these heaters. I have purchased two. I have a stray cat that has adopted me and I purchased one for her. I put it in her cat house and when it is cold or cold and rainy she is always warmly tucked away in her house on her heating pad. I also purchased a cat bed and removed some of the padding on the bottom of the bed so that the heat from the heating pad would better radiate. This mat is sturdy the electric cable is has a coil protection around it. I highly recommend for outdoor and indoor cats as well. My indoor kitties love it too!

I had to buy two - because the first one was so popular

It's a favorite. The cats take turns claiming it as the "favorite" bed so I've had to buy another one. We bought this so our cat that has arthritis has a warm place to rest. Unfortunately, the other cats like it too and took it over. That means we had to buy another. Within 5 minutes of taking it out of the box and plugging it in, there was a cat sleeping on it.

Works great, dogs love it

This heating pad has done a great job at keeping our working dogs warm during cold snaps. The pad only comes on when there is pressure applied so it's not constantly running. Our farm dogs love it. I crawled inside their cubby with them on a particularly cold night (6 Deg F) and it was super cozy. I am confident the dogs are able to stay warm and comfortable. I've purchased 3 of these and would recommend.

Our Blue heeler loves it!

We bought one of these several years ago for our son His dog loved it! . It works great and earned our trust. So now we bought one for our dog. It’s a little more expensive than some brands but we trust it’s safe and know it works great! It comes packaged well and you will notice the quality. Worth the price in my humble opinion! ????????????

Great heated pad

I bought this for our cat, I put it in our garage and needless to say she approved. She immediately went to it (which is really unusual) and she hasn't been in any of her other beds since.

worked great for our needs

We bought this for our outdoor cat. she sleeps in a dog house on the porch. She is now alone as our other cat passed away and we have no plans on a future cat. I didn t want her to have to struggle to stay warn on out below zero temps, so i put this in her cat house. I love the thermometer control, as it is perfect for her. ill walk buy and hear her inside her cat house just purring away!
