Way nicer than I expected

I boat this as a spring boating jacket but ended up using it as a light winter jacket. The quality is way better than I expected. Feels like a much more expensive jacket.

very comfortable and warm

I was a little concerned about this with the fit, I ordered both the L and XL to make sure I would get it in time to go skiing. I wore this over top of a thermal base layer and a Carhartt puffer jacket in -20 degree (F) weather and I wasn't cold skiing. For sizing reference, I am 6' 2" and I weigh 170 lbs, the L ended up being the perfect fit for me, even with the extra layers I mentioned.

Buy a size bigger

It was everything I had hoped for, except it was too small even though I used the Helly Hanson sizing guide and asked for a loose fit. When I say too small, I mean snug in every area. Big disappointment because the XL was $50 more. What the heck! Update, the XL went on sale and I bought it. It fits really great and I really like the features. Soon after I got it we went skiing. Though it never got below 0F it was fairly cold and windy on the lifts. I'd say this jacket will keep you warm down into the teens without any problem. It is very windproof and everything but the soft collar is waterproof.

Nice Jacket, but Cheap Zipper

Overall the jacket was of good quality, except for the zipper. At this price point, I would expect a nicer zipper (the most used piece of the jacket).

Very nice jacket

This is a proper fall/winter jacket. At 7 degrees with a sweatshirt on this jacket not only blocks wind but insulation keeps you warm.

Misleading photos of the jacket

I just received the jacket and everything seems to be alright apart from one thing : the colour of the Helly Hansen logos at the front and the back of the collar. The photos on the website show a greyish/ silvery colour when in reality it is the brightest and most annoying white you can imagine. For me and I assume for most people, one of the main selling points would be that the logos are as discreet as possible, small black logos on a black jacket would be acceptable, but no branding at all would be even better. Well, it is not the case with this jacket which is misleading the customers by showing photos of a (most probably) different jacket/model. And one more thing, the hood stows in the collar and this is a great feature, but when it is done, HH decided to cut down on the amount of velcro used and fitted only one small piece in the middle. Very strange choice for cutting down costs. How much is one square centimetre of velcro?

Didn’t get what I expected to . I have the thin ‘dubliner’ and is much better quality. This one : Short but large sleeve , large chest , would pay for it 40€-50€ and no more then that. Think trice before you buy it . Will be returned

Cheap Zipper for Branded Product Not look real

Disappointed to see the Quality of Jacket. Zipper used from YKK which are available for 50 p in market. Sleeve length is shorter to what shown on HH standard Chart. Did not bother to check warmth or other water proof features as returning following day with own cost. Gutted with the purchase and now will careful buying with Amazon as I never thought would be paying for postage for returns.

Helly Hansen Waterproof Dubliner Insulated Jacket

This jacket is truly superb being light and waterproof and warm & totally windproof, I would say this is probably the best jacket I have ever owned, whilst it is not a cheap jacket you certainly get what you pay for, I originally purchased it for dog walking but decided it's too good for that, so will get a cheap jacket for that. I noticed lots of past purchasers comments regarding getting the sizing wrong, this fits me perfectly but I used the Helly Hansen's own sizing chart on their website for this jacket, whilst I personally don't find the need to wear any more than a tee shirt or a sweatshirt underneath at temperatures just at 0c, if you are a person that likes more layers on I would suggest going one size up, but jacket may then become baggy without the extra layer, I personally feel most people will find the jacket warm enough even a few degrees below freezing without going up to next size and using an extra layer, the side pockets are not large, but they are big enough for hand warmers if required.
