Great lights

These lights changed our bedroom so much, they were super easy to install, and the actual look and quality of them is great.

Better than Home Depot's

The lights are great. They are well made and the quality is surprisingly good given the low price point. I have the generic Home Depot lights in my kitchen and I installed these in my living room. Here's the breakdown. - Both brands are easily retrofitted. Simply cut a round hole, run a romex cable, connect the light, and you're done - The home depot brand has a larger electric box. If you're working in a tight spot like under a rafter, this can potentially become a problem - The switch to change the light color is inside the box on the home depot lights which is incredibly annoying. You need to take the entire box out and open it up in order to change the color. With Consciot, the switch is on the outside of the box so you can just "feel" your way to it - The home depot lights have only 3 settings vs the 5 that Consciot offer. In case you're wondering, my lights are set to 4000K on Consciot which matches 3500K on the home depot lights All in all, the lights are definitely worth it and they provide a relatively easy way to update the lighting in your house.

Attractive, clean light. Configurable color temperature

Hard to believe, but, yes, I'm replacing some "old" LED recessed lights in my house with newer ones. The driving factor in my kitchen was that one of the LED fixtures is burned out, but the color of the lights that are currently installed is 3,000K and I prefer 2,700K (something a bit warmer.) These are configurable when you install them. A small switch on the power junction box allows you to set to temps between 2,700K and 5,000K depending on your preference. You must set the color temp when you install them, it cannot be changed from the wall switch. I have connected these to an Amazon Basics Smart Dimmer and it works great with these. At full brightness, they put out about the equivalent of a 60w light bulb. Installing was easy for me since I had similar lights (that are 8 years old) with similar control boxes. I just turned off the breaker, removed the old light, disconnected the power from the old light box. The clips fit nicely up in to my 5/8" drywall ceiling and hold the light in place nicely. I have the necessary screw drivers, wire strippers, and the like. Each light probably took me 10 minutes to re-wire. But, I was fortunate that I had all of the existing wiring where I needed it. On the light's electrical junction box, you can knock out holes to run the wires through. I strongly urge you to get knock out hole connectors that will clamp down on the main electrical wire and hold it in place. And, this will also protect the wire from getting cut on the sharp edges of the knock out hole. The installation video shows black plastic inserts for the wires, but I could not find those in the kit. I almost deducted a star because the installation kit did not have those but I think the lights are definitely a 5 star product.

Great Ultra-Thin Recessed Lights

These Consciot Ultra-Thin LED Recessed lights are great. I ordered the 12 pack of the 6 Inch lights. These have a slim junction box so they are easier to install where you may have little space to work with or beams to deal with. The LEDs have 5 color/ brightness levels to select from between 2700k-5000k, which is configurable on the side as you install them. They cannot be configured after the fact from the switch. But they can be dimmable once the level is selected. They were easy to install, I used these to replace already existing older recessed lights. I like the slim design, much easier to install and they look great.

Great Little Lights

These little lights are great in the light/brightness that they provide. The installation was really quick and easy, you just need to choose the warmness of the light before you put them in the ceiling. I really love how flat these lights are on the ceiling, calling no attention to them when they are off. It's also nice that these lights are dimmable giving you a lot of options on how you want the lighting in the room.

The media could not be loaded. Very easy to install. I set it at 4000 so it’s not too yellow or too white. And hopefully the light will lasted longer than the one before. As only the time will tell. Thank you for dropping by.

Tunable color

I needed slim lights for a retrofit in my basement, so I picked these up. I'm a DIYer, and I've installed normal recessed lighting before, so I know enough to be dangerous. This was not hard to do, but if you are not comfortable with 120v or cutting 6" holes in sheetrock, hire an expert. I used the existing romex that was ran to my fan, taped 2 pieces of romex to it, and pulled from the gang box. Didnt take much effort. Had to remove my 2 gang box and replace it with 3 gang, otherwise my fan would only come on when I turned the lights on. I like that I can set the kelvin color to match the environment. I like 3000 most places. In bathrooms I like closer to 4000, as you get more realistic coloring (less yellowing).
