Comfortable and sturdy

Assembling this bar stool was easy, the only confusing part was the rod in the middle near the bottom. At first glance the rod is flat on both ends however, it's actually slightly sloped. I didn't notice this at first and almost attached it the wrong way. The back legs of the chair are bent at a slight angle and the sloped end of the rod needs to connect to the back legs to fit properly. Overall the chair is sturdy and doesn't wobble. If you're building it on your own it should take 40 minutes if you're using a drill with low torque. Two parts of the legs came scuffed either the paint looks scrapped off or it is missing a sliver of the wood and paint. It is not overly noticeable and I do have paint that matches so I will just touch it up. The chair cushion is comfortable to sit in even for long periods. The cushion is a light cream color and when needed I can clean it with an upholstery cleaner.

Poor quality inspection from the manufacturer

I wish I had taken a picture of the gouges in the stool legs. They were smooth rounded gouges about 1/4 to 1/2 inch deep and 3 to 4 inches long - obviously from manufacturing. Both of the stools I bought had them. Box said they were 356 and 367 of 700 something in the shipment. Either I have terrible luck or most of the stools were probably damaged. I returned them.

Gouges in wood part of “distressed” look

I noticed a few dents in the first piece I pulled out of the box, so I continued opening and checking the other two stools I purchased. I figured there was just a defect with the first, but all three stools had dents/gouges in the wood! I emailed pictures to the support address in the boxes, and the company said these are purposeful as part of the distressed look. Their response: “These are not defects, this is the design of the product. If you do not like the distressing design, please return to the retailer as this is how the chair is supposed to look and any replacement parts will have the same design.” Distressing is one thing. This is something else. I expected the paint to look distressed. I did not expect dents, and this is not clear from the product photos. Also, the paint isn’t even distressed. It just looks like the paint needs another coat in places. The whole thing looks bizarre to me, but maybe you will like it. I did not finish putting these together, so I can’t comment on comfort or sturdiness. But I wanted other to have pictures of these dents that are all over the stools so you can make an informed choice.

Broken within 6months of purchase

I was happy with the look of these but the pegs would often pop out of the drilled holes (and they weren’t the most comfortable design). This must’ve happened without me noticing right away and a guest sat in the chair. The fall was pretty painful for my guest, not mention embarrassing. It’s frustrating that I now have a single chair(also flimsy and risky to sit on) and these are broken outside of the return window.

Mostly great

I did run into an issue towards the end... Before that everything was moving quickly but when I went to screw the stretcher bar into the other supporting bars.... No holes. Dude. That took my easy 30 minute assemble and turned it into an hour and thirty minute aggravation because it's just not that easy to force screws into wood when you don't have power tools and you're forced to do it by hand or risk leaving it off. OW. Once assembled it's absolutely lovely and we finally have another seat in our living room. Looks beautiful and I'm pretty proud of it.
