Worked for just under 1 year :(
This used to be a good kettle until today, when a year after purchase it started leaking in the bottom. Not sure what happened, it was used very gently. Now sitting here and looking for a new one...

Fabulous
Update: Hamilton beach customer service honored the warranty and stood by their product. I am so excited to have a replacement because I really love this electric kettle. There’s nothing like waking up to water that is already ready for my pour over and my husband’s tea. I haven’t found any others that do the timer programming as well and work as quickly as this stainless steel beauty. I wonder if there is some thing with the design based on other reviews and will try to keep extra care to not let any moisture get near the heating element of the base plate and on the kettle because I don’t want this one to break again. I noticed some corrosion in the one that broke so maybe that’s the reason. Not sure if that was the problem but I love this one enough to treat it with kid gloves Love the timer program option, the heat settings, how fast it heats and so disappointed that it broke for no reason after 5 months I tried to contact the company and nothing/ no reply.

Good but heavy
I had an electric tea kettle, but when it was full of water, it was really heavy. I thought it was because the controls were in the handle, not the base, but this wasn't the case. I like the function of it but it is as heavy as our old one. If you don't mind the weight, go for it. Guess they are all heavy.

Excellent Tea Kettle
This tea (hot water kettle) is a great purchase for all the different boil temps for different tea types. I use it for my English Breakfast hot tea. The kettle is fabulous. I am happy with my purchase.

Great kettle that gets used daily. Sometimes multiple times in a day. The preset temperatures are an excellent feature…great for various teas, pour over coffee or an Aeropress…or for simply boiling water quickly. (Without the possibility of over boiling like a microwave can.) The holding timer is also a great feature, especially for single teas or coffees…no need to start over if one decides to have another cuppa. With the added benefit of being able to heat up enough for a pot if so inclined.

Simply the best
I have been a Brevill man for a long time own several of there products, but I changed to Hamilton Beach and wow i'm loving this tea kettle, easy to use well made sturdy and lovely to look at a great addition to my kitchen table top. I use it everyday to make my French press coffee and love the temperature feature so the water is a the correct temperature for my coffee. I would highly recommend this to anyone contemplation on buying a tea kettle

Best Kettle Available
The media could not be loaded. I have a large kettle that lives on my stove. I rarely use it because it is so energy inefficient. This electric kettle heats the water quickly, so I am using less energy, and that is good for everyone. It has a choice of various temperatures, including one for the French press. I use that setting the most. I use it to heat water to dissolve chicken, beef, and vegetable base, for steaming vegetables, and when making rice. It's easy to see exactly how much water is in the carafe, and since the top flips back when you push the button, it's also easy to fill. I had another electric kettle that had a switch to push down on, and when the switch broke one day while looking at reviews of similar machines, I noticed a lot of the reviews mentioned that the unit was great, except the switch failed after a year - just about the same amount of time as mine. Therefore, I decided I did not want to get another electric kettle with a switch. This kettle has buttons, and it has a clear indication of exactly how hot the water is at any given time. It will keep the water hot for you if you wish. It is also programmable, but I have not used that feature.

I love my new kettle. I use it every morning and in the evening. Very easy to set up and heats up very fast. Also love that it stays at the temperature I want so I can go back for a second cup of tea and don’t have to wait for it to reheat.

Love it
Love this kettle. Use the auto start timer a lot and it works great so that the kettle is nice and ready when I get up and the keep warm function means it stays hot until I'm ready to use it. The different preset temperatures are also great as I know teas are supposed to be at different temps but pretty much impossible to do before this. Others have said it's noisy with all the beeping but I don't find the beeps loud or annoying. So far it works great - it's been about 4 months and no issues and no rusting. It's a pretty good value for the price so far

Quiet and fast...stylish too
Always get good value for my money with Hamilton Beach appliances as equal to or even better than higher prices Brands. This perfect to boil water fast and quiet and auto turn off....it has a keep warm feature that I use all the time. It shows on the display what temperature to set for the type of tea your using the hot water for! Easy to program time and other settings! I bought on Prime Days and got a fantastic deal...I would have paid full price for this kettle! And it looks really good with the brushed stainless steel finish !

Stopped working a year later.
The kettle no longer works normally after about a year. Kept trying to get the kettle warmed up but it would do so randomly and the temperature would disappear. And it keeps beeping after it "warms" up. Something's broken with the base.

My french press coffee isn't burnt!
I bought this kettle when it was on sale and it's one of my best purchases of the year. I like to make coffee in the morning with a french press and black tea in the evenings. With the temperature controls at hand, I can make coffee without that "burnt" taste and properly steeped tea with just a few button presses. In addition, I can program the kettle to turn on in the morning at a set time so the water is ready for me. Further, it has a stay warm feature so if I hit the snooze button I can still get up 15 minutes later and my water will be the perfect temperature. This kettle looks great and performs even better!
