The fly in the ointment. (See later edit.)

Edit: 5/29/2019 OK, I don't have to pull these down to pee. They're more like sweat pants with drawstrings and are easy to just push down a bit in front after loosening the string. So, I upped my rating from two stars to four, and I would be open to buying more of these. I'm wearing them now as the weather gets warmer and they're very comfortable. First of all, I am 5" 6" inches tall, medium build, and about 20 lbs overweight, and these medium shorts fit me perfectly. They are totally comfortable, and great for home, not-too-dirty yard work, and the occasional run to the store. The draw string means I don't have to transfer a belt from another pair of pants to these to wear them. A big plus. I'm only a bit fearful that the drawstring with fray and wear out long before the shorts do, but I guess another string could be threaded through the elastic should this ever happen. What I hope never happens is that I have to urinate at the store, or any other public place, because even though the stitching is there for a fly, there is no fly! The web page says there is a fly, but there really isn't. Was a manufacturing step missed? So I have to pull down my pants to pee in a public restroom? Seriously? So, I'll wear these around the house, and that's about it. I certainly will not order any more of these. A great design ruined for lack of a fly.

Almost to the knees

I got these for my teen that's all arms and legs. Finding non basketball type shorts that almost hit the knee is hard but these are soft, durable, well made and almost hit the knees. They haven't shrunk in the wash and are holding up very well. True to size also.

Tight around thighs

Great shorts! Especially for school.

These are great shorts! My son loves them! They’ve been perfect for meeting school dress code requirements for middle school and high school. My son is 14 and is 6’1” tall and just moved up into the men’s Medium. All of the size Small’s that he has outgrown will be donated to a local Foster Closet charity to help foster children. I hope Goodthreads continues to make these shorts. They are very well made, Very durable and wash up great! I’ve been buying these shorts for three years and have never received anything with any kind of defect or discoloration. They’ve been a true win! They look really nice and my son really likes them. So that’s a big plus!

Comfy!

Fits well. Moves a little stiffer than some of the other stretch shorts I’ve ordered but they look great and are comfy.

Great shorts!

I was a bit hesitant to buy these shorts at first, since its' an Amazon brand I thought they might be cheap, but they are fantastic! These are the best shorts I've ever had. They are a great fit, with just the right amount of stretch, and thought they are "canvas" they are really soft and comfortable. These are well made, high quality shorts, as you can tell by the triple stitching on the seams (instead of the standard double stitching). I would definitely recommend these shorts and the Goodthreads brand clothing. I also bought 3 pairs of Goodthreads stretch chinos, and they are awesome pants too.

They keep on falling down

I ordered in the correct waist size, but these shorts totally depend on the tightness of the shoelace-like cord to prevent them from literally falling down around my ankles. The cord, even when tied tightly, eventually loosens itself slightly so it has to be re-tied regularly throughout the day. So I'd have to say that these are probably 'over-sized' and I might have done better to have ordered one size down. What I would have (much) preferred is a pair of shorts that were at least secure from falling down without the cord tied at all. I could have returned these to Amazon as part of the buy-now-pay-later facility and if I had more time I would have done that, but I'm very busy at the moment and I've decided to bite the bullet and just put up with the inconvenience. In addition to the 7-day payment deferment, there is a return facility until 21 Sep 2022 (an extra 4 weeks) which I'm unlikely to use but it's an excellent bit of peace of mind for would-be buyers. In fairness, the risks are as low as they could be, and it's one of Amazon's best benefits. I bought them partly because of the 1500+ reviews and the average rating of 4.3 (86%) at the time I placed the order. Personally I think this is misleading, but there you go.

Could be my best shorts

Looking forward to getting to wear them in Florida exceptionally comfortable.Fabric not the lightest but should be just the job colour and length both good....glad I bought them.
