Misrepresentation on Amazon

I spent some time deciding on buying these boots. I had a pair of Allrounders before and really liked them but it had been more than 10 years since I bought them. There were two major differences from what was advertised here in Amazon. The first is that I ordered black boots and received blue boots. I don’t own blue boots so I decided to keep them anyway so that wasn’t the major difference in my mind. I always check where my products are made these days and this website said these boots were made in Vietnam. The boots very clearly stated the boots were made in China once I got them in the mail. I’ve been buying Vietnamese products thinking I was supporting a developing nation but in reality I think that Vietnam has become China’s textile factory rather than an independent nation. So, I kept the boots but wanted others to know these boots are not made in Vietnam and if they were it was a Chinese owned company, not Vietnamese. The boots are well made though they are made by all synthetic material so they aren’t my favorites.

stupidly designed

Why is the zipper on the outside of the boot AND combined with lace hooks? It's ridiculously unergonomic to put these boots on. You have to undo BOTH the laces from the hooks AND unzip the boot to get your foot into them and out. Where is the convenience in that?

Not a quality boot.

This was supposed to be a Mephisto boot. There is NOTHING on it that says, 'MEPHISTO',,,,,,, but there is this "MADE IN CHINA". I'm thinking (?) that they decided to go with a cheap Chinese boot and it just that. CHEAP, poorly made... low quality boot.

love these!

I'd been eyeballing these for most of a year, but after breaking my ankle, I decided to let myself have them. However, it had been a while since I had looked at them closely. So when I finally got them home I was pleasantly surprised to find the zippers on the insides! Lace them up perfectly just once, and then never again. So when my doc said that I could take off that big boot they make you wear after you get your cast off, these beautiful Mephisto's were what I put on. These boots are light, but soft under foot. Even though the inner soles feel soft, they also felt stable. Zipped up, they are the perfect way for me to start walking again and they look great. For the price, I would have been happier if there was a little bit of padding over the ankle bones, but the quality of the leather and workmanship are fine.

Great hiking boot m, great color and good fit

It’s hard to buy hiking boots online, but Covid drove me to it. After research I chose these. They are well constructed. I got them 1/2 size bigger for thicker socks and they fit well. I feel like I got them for a good price, but wish they were a little cheaper so that’s why I didn’t give them a 5 overall. As to durability, sole, fit, color (love the grey color!), and water repellent nature, I give them a 5. I got these for light, trail hiking, not for mountain trekking as I think the tread would need to be better for that. I did wear them in snow and ice and they worked well.

super light

like this boot so much that I bought two pairs. very ligth and my feet are super happy even if I am in the boot for the whole day. The zipper doesnt work well so I just use the laces, but the fit is more important to me.

Comfy boots!

Bought these for my daughter who needed outdoor boots for a volunteer job in college. She loves them. Lightweight, comfortable and fit good.

Wish the zipper was smoother

Loved the idea of lacing up the boot to my comfort and being able to for ever after use the zipper to put my boot on and off. Best of both worlds right? That is what made me order it. The shoes were very comfortable and have a great sole but the zipper was so figgity I returned them. Need it to glide easily. Not going to fight with a junk zipper. Sad. Considered getting another pair to see if that zipper worked better but the material of the shoe looked a bit cheap and more of a fashion bood than a hiking boot. Instead I am keeping the more expensive (of course) allrounder without the zipper....much better looking Grey suede.
