Cub cadet LT1045

Exact fit to my Cub Cadet LT1045. Easy to install. Requires one bolt and nut (not included), but fit like a glove!

Needs hardware to secure!

This plug fits my 2006 cub cadet lt1045. It does not come with the hardware to attach it to the deck and the hole that is manufacture in the plug is worthless. So I resorted to selling small pilot holes in the plug and deck. Then installed self tapping screws around the plug to ensure a snug fit. I successfully mulched over an acre with no blow back or excessive dust.

just as good as the original

having used this for a long time I can say none of these last long. Order two and remember it does NOT come with the carriage bolt or wing nut, but the price of this one still makes it a bargain. The first thing that will happen will be the loss of the bolt/nut. If you don't have a supply of old hardware to go thru then order several of the bolts or better yet order one set then go to the local hardware store and buy 3 or 4 of the bolt/nuts to have on hand for when you lose them. Also, use a washer against the plastic to help keep the bolt from ripping through.

Fits older 46" MTD decks

I have an older MTD tractor and deck. I searched for a plug and eventually was able to find my deck was used up to 2005-2009 (mine is from 1989/1990). This plug fit right in. I had to do some manipulating of my deck, but it fits well. I used short bungee cords for now until I drill a hole in my deck to bolt it in. Happy to finally find a mulch plug rather than discharge clippings.

Factory bolt hole doesn't line up, but is no problem.

MTD had intended this to be held in by a single carriage bolt at the top of the deck outlet. AYP always had a better method, with two elastic straps holding the cover/plug in place. I split the difference with a single bungee going from the gauge wheel bracket to the deck hanger bracket. After some clippings built up in the voids between the plug and the deck, there has been no blow-by.
