Loved this mat... but

I loved this mat but it turned moldy on the bottom pretty quickly like in 5 months of having it. There was no way to remove it and so I had to throw it away.

Thick and Non-slippery - No Fear of Falling

I have a HUGE fear of falling in the tub. My previous non-slip bath mat was very generic and cheap. It did it's just alright, but I still had some fears of slipping as the surface was not too textured. When it was so old that it start slipping even with the suction cups, I knew it was time to get a new bath mat. I really like this mat - it's thick, so I know it's not going to double over on itself if it comes lose; it's well textured so that I have a good gripping surface; and it fits perfectly in my small tub. I was worried that the "massage zones" would feel like they would cut into my wet feet some mats I've used in the past, but that hasn't been a problem at all with this mat. It actually feels pretty nice. Not like a massage, mind you, but better than nothing. In short, I am not afraid of falling or the mat coming lose with this mat. Nice product!

Good Quality

I really like the quality of this bath mat and it's washability along with the fact that it doesn't grow mold. It took a bit of getting used to on the feet, but now I really enjoy the "massage" action on the bottom of my feet as I move around in the shower. It was delivered on time, which I appreciated. The only thing wrong, and not a big thing, is that it is rolled so tightly in the shrink wrap before it is put in the box that the inside edge was a bit curled and it took about a week for the corners on that end to flatten out completely. Other than that I have no complaints. I can see how this would be a good design for the elderly who have to sit on one of those wide seats to bath as the design of the sides will accommodate the legs sitting on the floor surface of the tub or shower with the gently curved in sides on both ends. Good quality product.

Great Bath Mat

I kind of wondered about this item when I purchased it because my past tub bath mats have been pretty standard stuff. But I liked the idea of the varying textures (increased 'sure footing') and the added length of the mat. I have not been disappointed. It feels really good on my feet when I shower. In fact, the 'foot area' seems to be placed perfectly. Yet, it also feels good when I take a bath - not too uncomfortable for those 'softer' parts of the body! The added length (versus my past mats) is great. And it always stays exactly in place unless I pull it up to reposition it for some reason. I am completely satisfied with this bath mat and would not go back to my 'basic' mats again. It's worth the extra money - especially when you think of your per use cost (the price paid, divided by the number of times it gets used a week/day/month/year!).

Bathtub Mat

Initially bought it to prevent slipping in my bathtub, which it does. The suction nobs hold it in place, even though my tub a a somewhat rougher surface now after I botched a refinishing job. But even now, the suction works well. I take it out and hang it over the side of the tub after I finished showering and have not had any problems with anything gumming up in between the suction cups. The mat arrived rolled up. The end which was coiled the tightest does not seem to want to relax, even after two weeks, but it does not diminish the mat's function.

Looks Sleek, Slips a Bit

We have an older tub. I mean OLD. And it's at an angle. The reason I ordered this was that I was tired of fighting to keep from slipping backwards. It definitely keeps *me* from slipping, unfortunately it slips itself. I have to move it back into position after every shower. That could be because of the suction, or it could simply be due to the surface of the tub/angle/alignment of the planets... All in all, no one will be falling and breaking anything, and that's exactly what I wanted.

Emits Strong Odor, Otherwise Serves Its Purpose

For those of you who are sensitive to strong chemical odors, I'd recommend looking for something else. I needed a mat to put in my very slick tub for bathing my dogs. I've been following directions and hosing the mat off and hanging it to try each time to avoid mildew, and so far, so good. For weeks, the distinct rubber odor lingered in the bathroom. If I didn't keep the bathroom door open, I'm sure it'd give me a headache. At any rate, I gave the pups a clay bath last week for itchy skin and that one soaking seemed to finally get rid of the smell. The ends still tend to curl up, but otherwise it is a useable mat.
