overall a decent target stick but could be made more durable

I really like how this target stick is adjustable and has a clip that you can clip onto your pants or a treat bag or anything else that you’d want to clip it onto like that. I would like it the ball was made of something a bit more durable. It’s made of foam and if you have a puppy you’re teaching, the puppy might try to bite it which could damage it. When the stick is extended it is a bit wobbly and has a bit of flex to it but it’s not to the point where it will break. If you have a dog that’s not rough with it (jumping at it or something like that) it might be a bit of a concern.. Overall I really like it and my dog loves it too. We were on a walk working on exposure to traffic and I had it clipped onto my pants pocket on my right side while she was walking on my left and she actually offered a target a few times during walking all by herself.

Happy with this COA Target Stick

I bought the COA Target Stick in hopes to start training my parrot. The GOOD: 1. Was cheap. I've seen a clicker with a built-in target stick that was around $18 Oh, please. Got this and a separate clicker for a total of $6. 2. Easy to use. This reminds me of an old TV antenna (a.k.a. rabbit ear.) It simply pulls out in different sections to extend & easily pushes back in to shorten again. 3. Has a clip that can be hooked to a shirt or pocket. Haven't used this feature as I haven't (and probably won't) taken it outside with the birdie. I could see the clip being good if taking a dog to the park for training. 3. Does come with an instruction booklet. Admittedly, I haven't looked at this much due to eyesughr problems, but thought it was nice to be included the package. THE NOT-SO-GREAT: 1. Not sure how long the ball will last. It's a type of foam and if my bird ever got a hold of it, the ball would be toast. Little surprised it's not a plastic bead, but maybe the intent was to keep the stick as light as possible. 2. Ball seems to be on loosely. Not sure if it's supposed to be that way as I can't seem to get the end (screw?) any tighter. Thought about replacing the ball with a big bead, but can't get it unscrewed either. Over all, I'm happy with my purchase. My parrot is currently responding well to the clicker & remains terrified of this target stick. So maybe the ball will last longer than I thought..Hopimg with time, she'll get more comfy with it, but if not, this target stick was cheap enough that it won't be a horrible waste. My little Havanese loves the ball on here for training and I like that it’s t small enough to put in my hip pouch so when we’re training we don’t have to bend down to do touch, close, down etc.

Useful!

My hand gestures are so vague my dogs are super confused by them. With this it's clear where they should touch with their "nose" or "paw" cues. So small and light I can keep it in a bag for on the go training. Hasn't fallen apart yet.

Exactly as described.

I had begun to target train my dogs before purchasing this item, and was pleasantly surprised that the dogs took to it instantly. The red ball on the end seems to help and the overall length is desirable. I reccomend this product.

Clix Target, clicker, and treats made my older sad cat a HAPPY CAT that will love you even more!

I have a wonderful independent cat that was bored and had lost interest in her toys and stuff. She just wasn’t happy. I wanted to see if I could add some fun and spice back into her life with a clicker target and new treats even though I was skeptical that a cat could learn to do anything. Boy was I wrong! It only took a few treats with a clicker and the Clix Target Stick to get her going! After some trial and error by the operator, she now follows commands for things like getting off of the kitchen table, jumping into boxes, and jumping in between chairs. She strikes out with her paws on command (claws out) and jumps through hoops! All after about 4 weeks training (mostly for the operator!). My cats attitued has changed enormously! She is much happier and often comes to play the Clix Target Stick game. The game is tons of fun for us and my family can’t belive that she was so smart even though she is an older cat. Much to my suprise, the training time is minimal. I do about two or three 5-10 minute sessions per day. YOUR cat will love you even more!

Great tool but shows teeth marks.

I'm guessing the idea with making the ball out of foam was to give them something soft for their noses to touch, but it also seems to make it into a fun thing for puppy to attempt to chew. Training with it is going ok, but she inevitably starts trying to eat it a minute or two in, even with chicken readily available, so it has to be in very short bursts. Love that it extends. Great piece of equipment. Might need a material re-think.

It needs to be a different colour

Great little target stick , seems solid yet lightweight. My only issue is ... the ball ! The selling point says... The red ball helps the dog as a visual signal and its endorsed by Roger Mugford UK No1 animal psychologist... Well he should know Dogs cant see RED .. Would love to have this in YELLOW OR BLUE ... colours does can see ... Sp have already sprayed mine yellow

No booklet.

Seems to work ok, though a little stiff to extend. Main complaint is that there is no instruction booklet includes, contrary to the statement in the video. Inclusion of the booklet was main reason I chose this stick rather than others.

Great training aid

Puppies love this, really focuses their attention, learnt lots of tricks very quickly as they can’t take their eyes off it. Very simple, sturdy and extendable pole makes it very useful. Good value for money as some are silly prices. It’s also helped focusing to walk on the lead as they can’t stop watching it.
