AMAZING!
I was skeptical at first...I looked through many waffle cone makers on her. Even almost purchase a really expensive one with not so good reviews. This one has the best and most reviews on Amazon but is fairly inexpensive. I figured 'okay, I'll give it a try'...I am very happy that I did. After a few tries, and a great recipe I found on Pinterest.com, we are golden! These are perfectly brown and crispy! PS. If you are curious about the mini chocolate chips, I put these in the bottom of the cones while they are still hot and swirl them in the bottom in order to seal the cone to prevent melted icecream from dripping out-nobody likes a mess ;-) ***HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT ***

Good cone maker and heats evenly, but...
I have used the Waffle Cone maker several times now and really like it. I've tried the recipes in the book and also made gluten free cones with great success. The waffle cone maker browns evenly and is easy to keep clean. The nonstick surface works perfectly. The instructions also include recipes you can try. We tried them and also a few premade mixes. All of the recipes worked well in the waffle cone maker. The latch on the front is a bit hard to latch and I worry about it breaking, but so far it has held up nicely and it latches very solid. My other issue with it being hard to latch is that my wife has a medical problem with her hands, so people with arthritis may want to check the use of this latch before using the cone maker to ensure it will be OK to use or if it will need to be returned. This latch is used to keep the lid down and spread out the batter across the heating surface, therefore it must be used or the cone thickness will not turn out properly. The plastic cone form works well and is sturdy, but it does take a bit of practice to get used to it. This is not a manufacturing problem, but rather just a personal technique skill to learn. The first time I tried to roll the cones, the waffle would just slide around on the cone form and would then crack. I tried using a prepackaged mixChef's Choice Gourmet Waffle Cone Mix and the cones were a lot easier to roll and came out very nice. The casing of the waffle cone maker is built solidly. For this price range, I am impressed with the quality build. I cannot speak for the durability of the inside components, but I will update this review when I have used it for a long enough time to give a proper review of its life span. This has an adjustable "color" dial. This allows you to adjust how brown the cone will be. It is basically a timer adjustment for how long it wil wiat before telling you to remove the cones. This is a nice option to have and is similar to a how a toaster works. There are two lights on the unit to tell you when it is heated enough to add batter and when to remove the cooked cone. It only takes about two minutes to cook a cone. This cone maker is very easy to use and I would trust my grandchildren to use it on their own. So far I am very happy with it and I recommend it.

Makes great waffle cones and bowls.
The convenience of being able to make your own waffle cones and bowls is great with this easy to use maker. Just use a bit of cooking spray and the batter doesn’t stick and makes cleaning a breeze.

OK but not great
To be honest, I only bought this because I kept seeing how expensive waffle cones were at the ice cream shop and thought, I bet I could make it for cheaper. Apparently, I need a machine to do it right. Who really, really needs a waffle cone maker anyway? It was a little on the pricey side but then I divided it out and it comes out to be about 20 waffle cones at the ice cream shop. In those terms, I thought, "Wow, cheap!" However, if I wasn't so fixated on the ice cream shop's waffle cones, then maybe I would have thought, "Really? $50 for a waffle cone maker? Not." But, I succumbed to my weakness and bought the unit. Overall, it's OK. The only trick is trying to control the temperature of the unit. The unit doesn't have a temperature control where you can really set it precisely. It's a sort of hiss-or-miss thing. I made an entire rainbow of waffle cones from dark chocolate color all the way to vanilla color. 50 waffle cones later, I still couldn't get the color right. There would be splotches of white embedded in a sea of brown. I think it's those areas that the temperature was uneven. So, if you've got some money to spend and are obsessed with the high price of waffle cones at the ice cream store, then I say do it ... buy this machine. But, if I had a choice, I think I would opt to spend my $50 on 20 waffle cones at the ice cream shop instead. At least there, I always get the perfect waffle cone and I don't have to force my family to eat the "rejects" when I can't get the temperature right.

If I could give it 6 stars I would.
This is the best waffle cone maker. I already have the mini cone one but this one will make full size cones. Super easy to use. The ones in the picture are on setting 4 for 1 minute 15 seconds. A couple of tips to make this easy - 1. It says to use about 3 Tblspns of batter. I would guess if you were using a thinner batter then that might be the case but I used a slightly thicker batter and found just over 1/4 cup worked best. If you look at the picture, there are 2 cones that show the difference between using 3 Tblspns and using over 1/4 cup. 2. I used the recipe in the booklet but almost doubled the sugar because I wanted these for ice cream. I found they needed to be sweeter. 3. You can use milk, more melted butter, or even more egg whites to thin if the batter is too thick but milk makes it a little softer in cone form. 4. The recipe booklet for regular waffle cones made 6 - 7. Since I did a couple of small ones, I would say 6 full size ones. 5. If you use a dishtowel to help you roll it, press down on the bottom tip of the cone to ensure no holes. Yes, you are flattening the very bottom but it is hardly noticeable and there will be no ice cream leaks. 6. I did wipe it down before I started with a paper towel sprayed with vegetable oil but I don't think I needed to. All of the cones came away from the plates easily. If you can find the one for mini cones, I highly suggest you invest in both. They are excellent little machines.

Buy something another rather than this
Uneven baking, waffle cones are left raw n undone at the middle core portion and the edges r heavily burnt, not a cost effective product, much cheaper n worthy products r available

Great waffle cone maker
That's a simple thing but very neat for making waffle cones. I got it less than a month ago and tried twice so far and results were amazing. Following provided recipes are a must, it's a question of having the right batter to make it perfect ! I tried the second recipe from the little instruction book and I also tried a recipe from "Laura In The Kitchen". Something tricky though... You have to select first the number (how brown you want) using the knob before you plug it in the receptacle, otherwise nothing will work at all. No matter the green light to let you know the waffle is cooked, I select nb. 4 and let it cook for about 1 minute and 30 seconds (so use your microwave timer or your phone timer). I strongly recommend this product cuz it gives great and delicious results.
