Fit My Pre-Teen Grandson Well, But Has No Side Snaps

Let me define what I mean by a poncho. Not the fashionable accessory for a bit of warmth, but the tough waterproof garment a soldier treasures while standing guard for hours in a rainstorm. It is simply a large rectangle of totally waterproof material with a hole in the center to admit your head. Most versions have attached hoods with drawstrings. The long sides of the rectangle simply drape down to your boots. Their edges are fitted with double-sided snaps do you can hold the edges together to form an envelope for your body. A steel grommet at each corner provides a secure tie point so you can use the unsnapped puncho as a tarp or even a tent. Having no sleeves, seams, zippers, nor pockets, the poncho is extremely light, compact and easy to fold up and take with you. I needed a poncho for my 12 year old grandson, to take to summer camp. He is about 4' 8" tall, and is slim. I felt an adult poncho would be cumbersome for him. Since he lives far away I had to order this without trying one on him. This item was relatively inexpensive and well constructed. It fitted him and survived Camp well, however, I am disappointed in its design. I own a pair of military style ponchos that saved a full tour day for me and my wife on an Alaska cruise. I was even able to get videos by keeping my camcorder under the spacious poncho and filming through an unsnapped side opening. I am a fan of this remarkable garment style. The big defect in THIS version is that it only has ONE side snap at the cuff on each side. The remaining length is free and flaps in the Wind, losing a great deal of protection from rain, especially on windy days; I cannot give this item my full approval because it loses many of the marvelous functions of a military-style poncho that has a full complement of snaps: it provides FULL protection from heavy rain. The side snaps can join it with an additional poncho to form a 2-person pup tent (I admit never having done this, but it's nice to know.) I have used mine as a ground cloth and as a trap; and hung with string from trees to save a small picnic from a nasty drizzle. Multiple ponchos can be clipped together to protect a very large area.

purchased for 7 yr old weighing 52lbs.

This will be able to be worn for by him for several years! There is plenty of room with his back pack on and then the poncho so the backpack is dry as well. it comes between the knee & ankle and was not in the way of him catching his foot to trip on in. PRO: the material it is made of was NOT what I expected... it is not the normal plastic sort of stuff... it is like a thin rubber that has a very very soft feel.... because of the fabric it folds up so nicely, it can actually slide right back into its little pouch!!! WOWSER.. not seen that very often that I can get something back into what it came out of! The pouch is small enough to sit right in the bottom of the backpack to send along on days that rain is expected later in the day! also, when wearing it to school... we found that it shed water so well that one shake by a 7 yr old... then hanging in his locker... by the end of school day is was totally dry and he could fold it to put it in his backpack to come home!!! normal plastic stuff stays wet days! also, the fabric is such that if you were to catch it on something... you may put a hole in it... but it isnt going to tear like the plastic type do! CON: the elastic on the top of the hood works well... but, for his age/small head... something to draw it up a little more would be helpful! it stayed up ok... until he began to run a little to the bus and the hood kept trying to slide back.... walking it stays up pretty well. That would be the only complaint I could see of the garment. We look forward to enjoying it for many years!

High Quality Kids Poncho

My son will be starting summer camp this year and one of the items the kids need to make sure the kids had was a poncho. At first I was going to purchase a few disposable ponchos but that idea was short lived they’re not great for the environment and my son is autistic and has sensory issues certain the plastic bag wouldn’t be ideal. This poncho arrived today ... it is very high quality. It isn’t flimsy ... it has a little weight to it. Overall feels more expensive then it really is. My only suggestion (this didn’t bother me enough to remove a star - it’s more a personal preference) would be to add cords to tighten the hood around your head/face. Again that’s more of a personal preference because my son it tall & thin it’s a little loose around his face. He had no issues wearing it. I had him keep it on for a bit to see if it would bother him at all and nothing. This will also be great to keep in his backpack during the school year incase of emergencies ... it’s small enough and light enough to stay year round.

Great Poncho for us Petite people!

I wanted a poncho for a overseas trip where heavy rain is possible. I am under 5' tall and under 135lbs. I knew if I bought the adult size it would be too big and long for me. I would be constantly tripping over the poncho or cut it. So I decided to buy the Boys size. It arrived within a few days and I loved the fit. The poncho hits just right below my knees and it is just wide enough for me to put my purse and small bag underneath it to keep dry. I love the snaps on each size and under my chin as well as the adjustable cord for the hood. The material is very lightweight and not clingy. I have not had a chance to try it in the rain but I think this poncho will do fine for my trip. I also love the reusable storage bag that came with it. The poncho folds neatly in the storage bag and it is the size of a clutch purse that can be easily packed in my luggage. A great purchase for me.

Really great poncho

Really awesome poncho. Nice thick material. Feels like good rain coat material. Fit my son perfectly (he’s about 5 ft). We will use it for hiking and for a Disney trip. Bought adult ponchos from another brand for almost the same price and they are being returned because they are garbage. I ordered two adult ones from Charles River to replace them!

Muy buen producto. Lo recomiendo

Mido 1.58 m y buscaba un impermeable correspondiente a mi estatura. Éste fue el indicado. Me cubre hasta las rodillas y los brazos (a menos que los estire). A pesar de ser un producto para infantes, yo lo recomiendo para gente no tan alta. También es de excelente material, es grueso, no se arruga tanto ni queda apestando después de mojarse (recuerden dejarlo secar): muy buena calidad. Incluso trae una bolsita muy agradable para guardarlo y no hacer bulto en la mochila o bolsa. Otro punto importante es que yo buscaba un impermeable que me permitiera andar en bicicleta sin tener miedo de que se atorara en las llantas y accidentarme. Pues éste también me cumplió muy bien ese punto, incluso puedo proteger el manubrio con la parte frontal del impermeable sin miedo a caerme. La única desventaja que tiene para mí es que (como mencioné arriba), al estirar los brazos, se me descubren y se me mojan. Sin embargo puedo vivir con ello. En general cumplió muy bien mis espectativas y estoy satisfecha con él.

Me gusto mucho lo llevo a todos lados en mi mochila ya que no ocupa mucho espacio, el material es bueno solo que siento que es un poco caro, he visto otros impermeables de igula calidad a menor precio, aun así no me arrepiento de la compra.

素材はそれはそれはしっかりとしていて、大雨でも濡れる心配はない。デザインは普通。しかし、腕！腕の丈が短い！肘までの長さしかないので、自転車に乗るときに使用したが、もちろん手はずぶ濡れです。ちゃんとサイズを見て買えばよかったと後悔したが、値段もそこそこの商品なので使うしかなく。。。野外イベントなどで使う分には全然OKです。
