Saved the day!

I used this to extend the reach of a 2 1/2" hole saw through a bunch of 2 X 4 studs in a wall to relocate sink drain line without removing any drywall.

Well built. Not totlally obvious it is a 7/16 shaft extender

It is well built and may come in useful in the future, so I will keep it, although I thought I was ordering something else. I misread the comment from Winter, thinking this was a 3/4" auger extension. 3/4" is the outside diameter of the coupling sleeve at the end, not the shaft diameter. Amazon was extremely helpful by exchanging the original shipment just to make sure there was no mistake. Very good customer support.
