Decent watch, but not a G-Shock!

I was disappointed when I received this watch and read the user guide. The guide specifically warned us not to subject this watch to dropping or sudden stress. So, it's not a G-Shock, but it looks like one and is from the same company. A little sleight of hand, then, really, by calling it the Tough Solar watch. It's not much tougher than the Casio dress watch which got a multiply-cracked crystal when it fell out of my pocket as I was coming out of the bathroom in a business, falling onto the concrete floor. Just right for it to land fully on the crystal, which is such a low probability. Granted, this Tough Solar has rubber guards around the bezel, but if the Tough Solar were to fall against a corner of a table or something that misses those guards, it may get just as damaged. Casio warns you appropriately. This has become my everyday and expendable watch, then. I've been tired of digital timepieces on my wrist. My previous Casio dress watch had traditional hands as well. Analog is as cool for me now as ever. I'm just left wondering if the rubber armor will be enough to prevent this watch from failing from falling to the floor flatly, then. Be well. Be safe.

A CASIO worth buying!

This watch came in the mail today after ordering it yesterday. Kudos to Amazon for the speedy delivery. This is a very nice watch for the money. The watch is very easy to read. The analog feature synced automatically once the digital display was set. Setting the functions I use was easy to do especially if you have experience setting other Casio watches so no complaints there. It fits nicely on my 6.5-inch {165mm) wrist. The band was not stiff so it was very comfortable to wear. I cannot comment on its water resistance, alarm, or timer functions as it is still new to me but I anticipate no problems with them. My only complaints are that the light only illuminates the digital display and that the lume is weak and does not last. The hands glowed the longest but the 3,6,9, & 12 positions faded almost immediately after lights out. On the whole, I still like this watch for which I only paid approx. 30 US Dollars. RECOMMENDED.

It is a decent watch

This is my second one of these watches, I was going to replace the battery in my old one, but this watch was cheaper than buying a new battery. Sort of bums me out. As watches go it shows the time and it has alarms. But if you are of a certain age the tiny type for the digital display is hard to read with out glasses on. Otherwise it is a decent sub $30 watch (at the time of this review)

Good Basic Watch

I continue to buy entry-level Casio watches because all of these work pretty much the same, so the learning curve for me is pretty flat. If you're new to these, there is a lot of function here, although no fancy smartwatch features. These things are inexpensive, but they work, and all of the requisite time functions, and then some, are included. I don't usually wear a watch, but it's nice to have one with a lot of functions when such is required. This model loses a star because the entry-level watches no longer sync to an atomic clock. That functionality has always been pretty spotty here on the East Coast, but did (and likely still does) work just fine in the Midwest. I also wish the face were more of a plain style; I don't need a constant reminder of "Tough Solar" or "Illuminator" in big ugly letters. Overall, though, just fine.

Affordable quality solar watch

This is one of Casios cheapest dial face solar watches. It isn't technically a G-Shock, but that lends to a thinner profile as well. Time has been keeping accurately. The annoyances are the digital face which is like 7 characters long for the date, day, year, and seconds, which is fine as the watch'd main purpose is the dial face. Lack of back lighting (there is a little light but it only covers the digital display and is not that bright nor on that long). The glow in the dark hour and minute hands aren't the brightest, and really could have just benefitted from a tiny amount of tritium. Overall, a low priced solar powered watch that is tough and durable.

Still going strong at almost 7 years

Tough great watch especially for the price. It has never failed once since purchased 10/2016. For the price you can’t go wrong. For the watch even without great price…you can’t go wrong. I wrench on cars, build almost anything. Minus the scratches it is just as perfect “working” as when purchased. I am only looking again because I have beaten the crud out of this watch and it it physically looking bad now. “Take a lickin but keeps on ticking” Casio should use the catch phrase instead because Timex hasn’t been near there for decades

Rugged, premium feel, astonishing value solar genius!

Great looking watch, which is a useful addition to my increasing collection. I like the dark, rugged look and it feels like a premium watch. I've avoided the dual analog/digital watches due to the faff involved with manually setting the hands to match the digital time but this overcomes that by doing it for you. Such a good feature. I paid 30 for this watch, which is truly astonishing value for a solar powered watch. I'd add that it seems to need very little light(even artifical) to maintain a HI charge. Genius.

the only watch you'll ever need

With a solar (and fluorescent light) powered battery charging, world time, 5 alarms and 100 meter water proofing, there really is no better watch for the price it has all the usual functions you'd expect on a digital watch such as timer, stop watch back light date etc and also a nice analog face. I would highly recommend this watch

Un excelente reloj de Casio, indiscutiblemente

Sinceramente, es un magnífico reloj, por mucho siempre serán mejor los relojes de casa relojera, comparado a los que son de marca de diseñador. Las funciones y utilidades del reloj son prácticas y realmente efectivas, las 5 alarmas son de mucha ayuda para programar tu alarma por día, así como también puede mostrarte el nivel de carga de la batería, las manecillas y números brillan en la oscuridad, en fin que más les puedo decir, que es mejor que compren el artículo, no se van a arrepentir, y menos por un precio abajo de $600 pesos, se los recomiendo en su totalidad, material de construcción de calidad y bueno, Casio es garantía de calidad.
