Not brushed nickel

Sink Air Gap Cap for Eastman Copper Air Gap Finally fit AFTER some minor modifications.

The correct replacement was sent, just an "UPDATED" ABS plastic version of the original brass cover, which cracked after 20+ years of use. Initially the new cover would not fit W/O excessive force to place it correctly over the protrusion above the counter top. The protrusion is designed to reverse the direction of drainage flow downward into the larger discharge hose connecting to the disposal. The top of this protrusion is a nylon unit threaded on the inside (will unscrew) with six vertical ridges on the outside diameter, which are intended to securely hold the cap in position. I found it necessary to use a course emery finger nail board to grind off the tops of the six ridges to allow the new cap to be installed properly. I also coated the inside of the new cover with a Teflon "Super Lube", as well as the tops of the ridges which were ground off slightly. I positioned the cover with the air inlet facing the back of the counter top and pushed downward until it bottomed out on the top of the nylon shoulder, at the base of the protrusion. Looks great and the ABS cap is removable, with an upward tug, for future maintenance. EASTMAN makes a very good air gap. the replacement cap could have certainly been made a bit better. In the end it all worked out without having to replace the air gap assembly.

Almost a chrome finish

Did not want a chrome finish - this brushed nickel was still almost a shiny chrome finish but looks fine.

more polished chrome than brushed nickle

Arrived quickly.. But I'm not very happy with the finish. I am not sure whether I was sent the wrong one or it is just not a good representation of brushed nickel. You can see by the photos that it has virtually zero brush effect like it is represented in the photo on Amazon. I would send it back but I cannot find another one here that seems to be the right size. The new faucet in the photo is the brushed nickel that I was trying to match which I also just purchased. I guess to boil it down, if you are looking for an actual finish that matches your brushed nickel faucet I would keep looking elsewhere. I only gave it 2 stars because at least it fit the existing air air gap fixture

Got what I paid for

Doesn't fit snug on post so it gets knocked off easily. I guess I'll.order a better one next time.
