This'll work!!

Purchased this cute canteen for a halloween costume prop for my husband. Seems like it'll work out great for what we're using it for and we have yet to test any liquid in it, but I'm satisfied. The strap, at its longest, is kinda like a shoulder purse and CANNOT crossbody on an adult. I'm giving 4 stars because the item is not exactly as pictured. The fabric quality is not canvas; more like a very thin, windbreaker nylon. (So thin, you can read the "Hi" I wrote on a post-it & tucked under the logo.) Oh, and the logo is different but I was covering that up anyway; so not a big deal for me. If you care about the quality/ look of the listing pic, now you know... I don't really care, it'll work just fine for us AS A PROP!... we might just pour spirits in it, though. Happy Halloween, y'all.

Useful, works for the price.

This is a pretty good version of the old boy scout canteens from teh turn of the 20th century. I have always wanted one of this shape and was happy to find one here. The canteen itself seems well made and I could detect no leaks, even after leaving it in my car in 28 F weather and the water froze. The chain on the cap works like it's supposed to but can get in the way, although it's better then losing the cap. The cover is not as well made and is a lot thinner then I expected and the strap is thin, which means it may bite into one's shoulder on long hikes unless a heavy shirt or jacket is worn. It does hold a full quart of water and that can get a bit heavy when walking any long distance. One huge advantage of this style of canteen is the fact you can drink from it without having to unstrap it from yourself. Overall for the price, it is pretty good, at least to me since I have always wanted this style of canteen.

Defective snaps!

Christmas morning hike with the canteen Santa just brought…snap rips after the first drink. The nylon is super thin and weak…child was very disappointed.

no-thrills

It looks like actual army surplus from WWII. Sturdy, simple, and ugly. Will probably last forever. I wish the I had a choice of color for the textile sleeve, besides olive. Otherwise, a solid product.

Just like my boyhood canteen

I had probably the exact same thing for most of my boyhood in scouts so we got this for my daughter when she went to Girl Scout camp. It works great and is very sturdy.

Strap is much too short

The canteen itself is much as I expected considering the price. It seems to hold water without leaking. I am not a large person { 5' 8" 135 lbs) but the strap was way to short for me--I could barely get it over my head and the canteen was then almost up to my armpit. I added another strap so I can use it, but I haven't had a chance to try it yet, so I can't comment on durability.

Got this for part of a costume I put together for my husband, and it worked perfectly. Only complaint is that the color is definitely way more green than the photo, so it didn't quite match with the rest of the outfit the way I had been hoping. Also, it does work quite well for its intended purpose. Even though it was just part of his costume, the husband ended up carrying water in it all night at the event we went to.

Mala calidad

no la usé ni una vez. Apenas la llené con agua y goteaba mucho de la unión de la rosca, con la cantimplora. La bolsa no protege nada, es muy delgada. Vale la pena invertir mas, para comprar algo de calidad.

made a little thin dents very easy ..I dropped mine when full of water and it leaked all water out. I think this is only for decoration I paid 12 dollars for it and don’t think it’s worth 5. Good kids toy if anything

Leaks

I was quite happy to find this canteen...but after using a few times I noticed the seams on the metal are leaking...never dropped it or banged it so obviously just let go...not impressed..it was expensive enough.

Se rompió la primera vez q la usamos. Muy muy mala calidad. No la recomiendo para nada. Se rompió en la parte de abajo y el agua se filtraba.
