Exactly what we needed!

I’ve had this for several months now and use it frequently. Normally, I’d say you get what you pay for, but this is a fantastic bargain, without quality being compromised. Don’t pay the prices in the home or kitchen stores. This scale is simple. If you’re a little OCD like me, and you get irritated when a helpful person in your household divides up your bulk package of ground beef by estimating what they believe is to be equal parts, and then you go to use that last “pound” and it’s nowhere nearly enough, get this scale. It’s basic enough that even a teenager could figure it out.

It's for weed.

I got this scale actually to weigh out CO2 in a paintball tank for use in my SodaStream. For that it does the job. Being able to tare out the weight of the tank itself and the option to measure in oz (which is how the tank is rated) means it does the job quite well. I'll also be able to use it for other kitchen uses. I can't complain. And I'd guess the accuracy is pretty good given its clear intended purpose. Let's talk about that. When I opened the shipping box to reveal the product packaging, the first thing that jumped out of me was the nugget pictured on the scale. IS THAT WEED? Then I saw the name. It's not the model name you see on this listing. Nor the model name on the scale itself. No. The packaging calls this the "420 Home and Garden Scale." Yeah okay. Now I should point out that the "nugget" on the scale as pictured is not in fact weed. As you'll read in the Q&A it is in fact kale, and I have confirmed with my "weed expert" (read stoner friend) it is definitely the wrong texture. But it's the wrong color for kale. They've clearly photoshopped this kale such that it can look like weed, but that they have plausible deniability. But let me tell you, just in case it wasn't clear enough to the customer what the scale is for, let's talk about the extras you get. This scale quite literally comes with two little baggies. My mind is unable to come up with any legitimate reason for which these would have been included. They just are. Now personally, I find this absolutely hilarious. It made me laugh a lot. I mean it's not every day you accidentally buy a weed scale. And it's a fully functional scale. So there's really nothing to complain about. But it's pretty undeniable that this scale is, in fact, for weed. Also note: it requires 3 AAA batteries not included Update: I had previously submitted an update in which I mentioned corrosion coming from inside unsure of why and calling this scale unservicable while dropping my rating from four stars to two. However, with some new discoveries, I must retract that. In fact, it is very easy to disassemble, IF you know how. No clips. No glue. Only screws. Four under the feet (I'm not a fan of this, but it's standard practice) and two INSIDE. Which requires taking the weighing plate off first. I thought this was glued on, making the entire thing unserviceable. But rather, there is a trap door hidden under the oval sticker on the back. It LOOKS like there's a screw hidden under the label directly, but when you stick a screwdriver through, you just hit plastic. This kinda gaslit me into thinking there was nothing there. But no, there totally is something. Once you know that it goes from serviceable to very easy to service. As well, the corrosion, while clearly not from the batteries, does not appear to be from anything inside either. No electrolytic caps or anything. Anyway, with this I go from condemning the design to praising it, because repairability is something we desperately need more of these days!

Lasted 2 good years!

I have used this scale a couple of times per week for the last two and a half years. No complaints at all on usage. Very easy to switch units of measurements, the scale is sensitive and accurate, detecting the weight difference even in tiny additions of food/liquid. The batteries (3 AAA) never needed replacing. I was always careful to only wash the scale portion of the unit. When it stopped turning on after about 2 years, I opened up the battery section and found it all corroded. As I said I've I cleaned as best as I could and am still getting sporadic uses out of it a few months later, but it's no longer reliable. As one of the cheaper options, I'm not going to dock a star (it was an awesome low cost option for a couple of years!) but this isn't a "lasts forever" purchase. I will be looking to replace with a waterproof unit. I don't have many devices that get battery corrosion so maybe the kitchen area is just slightly too humid for this one? Not sure. Highly recommend if you need something cheap!

Adjusting weights can be difficult

It is difficult to adjust precision weights from, say, 5.2 ounces down to 5.0. Scale does does not always register changes. Yes, I take it off the scale before I reweigh. Other than that a handy kitchen tool.

Not backlit as depicted in the photos.

This scale fit my need for greater precision than one gram increments in that it claims to have 1/2 gram increments. As per the photos I expected it to have a backlit screen. I did not so I sent it back without even testing it. Still looking for a backlit scale with 1/10th gram or at least 1/2 gram increments. Many of us need a kitchen scale that weighs up to one or two pounds rather than the common six to twelve pound models. High accuracy usually comes with a lower weight limit but this puts you into the arena of "gram scales" which are too small and ugly to serve as a nice happy kitchen scale with a nice form and BACKLIT SCREEN.

Okay!

I was a bit skeptical when I opened the box, because the scale felt like a kid toy - plastic. However, it was worth it. The color matches well my others kitcheen tools. It has a convenient and cute size : when I cook, I won't have to make much room for it. I later bought the batteries, and it worked fine. The screen gets blue when on. The calibration of the 0 is functional. Just, don't move the scale or put it on unstable platform when on; otherwise, the device gets confused and gives nonsensical numbers. Also, that's some impressive competitive price here!

Worst product , never buy

I would’ve given-5 if that rating was available, faulty product was delivered to me which never worked. I was away hence couldn’t return it. The display never worked hence I couldn’t use even for a single weight. I again started looking for scale and stumbled upon this product, hence the review.

Good scale

I've had this for a few months and I'm overall happy with it so far. I wouldn't describe the colour as exactly lime green, it's a bit darker but it still looks nice in my kitchen. It's very easy to use and the scale range goes up to 6 kg.

I'm on my 3rd Ozeri kitchen scale (previous ones didn't break; just mistakenly left behind when moved) and I love them. Was going to try a different brand this time, but decided to stick to the one that has always been simple, precise and pretty much problem-free, even after yrs of constant use. I would've loved to have stuck with the previous model but wanted a back-lit LCD display so grabbed this one instead. Great price, extremely accurate, very cute colour options, and although I wish the function buttons were a little less click-y, that's just a weird hang-up of mine.
