Very sturdy key chain tool
Last weekend I dropped the transmission out of my F-150, rebuilt it and re-installed using ONLY the Gerber Shard and some red Loctite. Truth? You be the judge. One thing that is not in question is the coolness of this little tool. Any key chain will be honored to hold this multi-faceted, multi-specialty, multi-purpose tool. I wrapped it with paracord to give a little extra purchase when cranking down on that pesky Phillips head screw. You can find numerous videos on how to do that or just man up and try it yourself. I have used it mostly for opening Amazon boxes containing other cool EDC stuff. All joking aside, it is very well built and has a little “heft” but not heavy. I chose the silver Titanium Nitride Coating version (vs. black) because how often do you get to say “Titanium Nitride”? Full disclosure, I think both of them are Titanium Nitride, so maybe I just thought the silver would hold up better in my pocket. I did drive a nail in a board just to see if I could pry it out. It did! Other features are Small and Medium Flat Driver, Philips Head Driver, Wire Stripper (untested), Bottle Opener (heavily tested) I have the Nite Ize G-biner #2 and the Shard mates nicely with it. If you have smaller ring, you might add a small section of paracord to the Shard to hang from. Lord knows the hole is big enough (sorry, not sorry). They claim it is TSA approved and airline safe. I cannot attest to that because, frankly if TSA approves it, it kind of diminishes the coolness. Cons? Maybe the lanyard hole could be smaller. But hey, Maybe I could be taller but I’m not. For comparison, I also have the Nite Ize DoohicKey and I like the Gerber better just for the heftiness. You will lose this tool before you bend or break it. 5 stars

Priced right, cool tool that has many uses including gifting. I use my Gerber Gear Shard Keychain almost daily.

perfect keychain multi-tool
This is the great, in a pinch, multi-tool. it has a phillips and a flat head, good enough for a battery cover on a toy, the pry bar is decent for popping open certain packages and pulling out a funky nail wedged in somewhere, and the bottle opener does what a bottle opener should do which is the most used feature. Even the flat wide body helps to press down on small objects to save pressure on the thumb. It's not going to replace your leatherman but it'll probably do when you don't have one nearby especially while in a theme park or waiting for a flight since it's TSA compliant

Sturdy, well made, only one shortcoming. if the lanyard hole was a 1/4" hex drive for bits it would be near perfect Still it is good, handy size. Have used it more and more lately, Gave it a fifth star for it's usefulness Using more and more as a steel thumbnail to open folding knife blades, tools, etc...

Another useless piece of garbage from Gerber
The design of keychain tool is pretty terrible compared to other options in the market. Ordered 3 different brand keychain tools from Amazon at the same time and they all got delivered at the same time too The Gerber keychain tool was the worst when it came to design and practicality and usability. The bottle opener of this tool is next to impossible to use. The rest of the features listed in the brochure are just that. Features in a brochure. Cannot recommend this Gerber keychain tool. Look elsewhere

Neat little tool
I haven't had it long, but it has already come in handy for striping wire and prying open a stuck window. There isn't really too much to say. It's pretty self explanatory. I have to say though that it is NOT made out of titanium. A magnet will stick very well to this tool ; just like it was steel. It might be a ferritic stainless steel, but certainly not titanium, as advertised. I'd still recommend this tool though. It's light and not cumbersome on a Keychain at all.
