Four stars for customer service

This bowl is beautiful and is sized exactly as described - 14 inches in diameter and 4 inches high. The bowl is 3/8 inch thick at the rim, and while I don't have a set of calipers to get precise measurements, it feels as if it's about the same thickness throughout, including the bottom. The color is a little darker than what's shown in the product description photo, but some color variation is to be expected with any wood product. The bowl was shipped by My Goods via USPA and arrived several days before the estimated delivery date. The box arrived undamaged. Upon close inspection, I found several cracks that had been glued (quite well, actually) probably at the factory. I don't know if the bowl had been dropped or was a return, but it's clear that it had at one time broken into three pieces. There was also a two inch crack on the opposite side. I submitted a return request to Amazon and later that day, received a reply from My Goods. They promptly refunded my purchase + tax, apologized for any inconvenience, and informed me that I do not need to return the bowl. Excellent customer service by My Goods and Amazon. I plan to use the bowl as intended, and if it fails where it was glued back together, I will buy another one just like it from My Goods.

a simple salad bowl that looks great on the table

This salad bowl is simple and looks great. It is easy to clean. Just use some warm water and soap. Make sure you dry it down and then use a food grade oil (like canola) to keep the bowl from drying out.

Alternative use

The bamboo bowl is for my kitten. She used to rest in the clear cover of her pet backpack. Cats like dome. She deserves something much better so I bought this bowl .She likes it at a first sight. The bowl is well made and very durable. I could not find a bigger rim but this can fit only for now. Ragdoll cats can grow enormously. A star taken off because of the surface. It is not smooth.

Poorly constructed and not well sealed

I've had 2 of these bowls since September 2022 and they were disappointing from the moment I opened them, but I figured I'd give them a go to see how it went. First, one of them arrived with a dent. That's disappointing. The finish on both bowls was a little rough -- as though they hadn't been sanded down properly with a fine enough grit sandpaper. That makes them rougher to hand wash and dry as they would snag the dish cloth and towel. As an experiment, I sanded down one of the bowls and then finished it with butcher block oil. It looked and performed a lot better than the one I didn't sand. However, over time, the surfaces of both bowls have roughened up again. I've even treated these bowls so very carefully -- hand drying them immediately after hand washing them. For comparison, I've had a pair of BambooMN 8" plates https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01JB6NFT6/ that have performed amazingly despite a little light abuse. I thought these Lipper bowls would at least be in the same ballpark of quality, but noooooo they are not. The next time I need to buy wooden dinnerware, I'm definitely going with BambooMN.

Not a full size bowl!

The bowl itself is quite nice... but check the dimensions! I didn’t and was expecting a full sized salad bowl given the price. It is a single serving bowl. Not large enough to make a salad in. I bought a full sized salad bowl at a Walmart for only $25.00 after spending over $27.00 on this one that is less than half the size. Again, very good quality, just not the size I expected. I should have checked the dimensions before ordering.
