Zombies! Dagger adds a surprising strategic element to the series
Don't let the cute little fur ball on the cover fool you: Dagger's star is the Zombie card. Because zombies don't stay dead (I guess), you aren't allowed to put Zombies on top of the discard pile, so they stick around forever (there are ways to get rid of them using other cards, but for the most part they are going to stay in villages until the end of the game). However, if you turn a Zombie face up in your village, you can give it to the previous player, and turn it face down in the process. Now they have a zombie, you don't, and they can't get rid of it until they turn it face up! Fortunately there are a lot of ways to turn cards face up in your village (not as many as silver coin, but a bunch of ways nonetheless), so unless you get a Zombie late in the round, you'll be able to give it away. There's also a Sentinel, which when faceup in your village, protects you from Zombies (and other things, but face it, you just want the Zombie hoard to be turned away). The Silver Dagger token that comes with the game is an incredible work of art, and it has a really useful function too...the owner of it can reverse gameplay, so you can protect yourself when the wrong neighbor as a face up Zombie that's looking to move to your village. As always with the series, you can mix and match cards from the previous games (take the Goth Girl from Bullet and put her into the Dagger cards to provide yet another way to bury Zombies...this time at the very bottom of the discard pile)!

Those dang zombies! Tougher than the original silver.
My kids and I loved the original Silver so we decided to add Silver Dagger to our collection. I marked "Easy to learn" as 3 out 5 stars. Over all it's an pretty easy game to play, but with all the different characters, their abilities and when or not you can use those abilities makes it a little complex. But only at first. The original Silver plays faster than Dagger. The biggest difference in this game is the dang Zombies. Watch out for those guys. This is a fun game to play and requires some thinking, strategy and memory skills. Might even be a little more fun with a few drinks in everybody's system........because of having to remember what cards you have.

4th best out of 4
Not as good as the other ones. The private deck is dumb, as mentioned in other reviews. Additionally, the 3 card is way overpowered. Causes complete lack of balance, especially if playing 2 player.

So Much Fun!
I love all the Silver games, and Dagger is no exception! The Silver series is probably my favorite game series from Bezier. It is a simple game, but it has a lot of depth to the strategies you can use. I have found that this series is great for all kinds of people--hardcore gamers and casual gamers alike! My mom liked it so much when I had her play it that she wanted her own copy, so I bought her and the family the first three titles, and will soon be getting them Dagger as well! I highly recommend all the Silver games, I really think they are a blast to play.

I love this series of games, Dagger is my favorite though
Silver Dagger is an amazing culmination of everything you’ve learned to love from this series of games. Without question Dagger is my favorite of this current series of four card games. Silver’s have been named alphabetically, Amulet, Bullet, Coin, Dagger, each name representing the special ability token that is awarded to the player who calls for a successful vote in one of the 4 rounds of play. The “D” for this could have also stood for dangerous or deceiving, as it contains some of the more difficult tactics and combinations than any before it. If you are new to these games, I suggest playing them in order so you can experience the shift and gradual increase in difficulty. I have found some of my absolute favorite illustrations and characters to also be in this deck. There is a playful mix of characters that by looking at the art you may think are harmless funny cards to play. You’d be wrong, one of the most deceiving and dangerous cards we came across was the number 6 card Flipper. It is comically represented by a smiling dolphin wearing a chef’s hat serving a platter of hamburgers. The card ability allows you to flip all cards in any player village, this is powerful in this particular game because of how many cards have “when face up” abilities that activate. In our first games we were quick to use this card but later found activating Flipper is best saved as a tactical move to either activate your already known cards or deactivate someone else’s village before a vote. Other great cards in this deck are the value 4 cards, the Zombies, these pesky cards just can’t be killed and keep coming back to haunt you. Since they cannot go to the top of the discard pile via ability or by an exchange you are stuck with them unless you can flip them up and then use their ability to shift them to another village. The value 13 card, Furry, is also one I enjoy, it’s a high risk high reward play, but if you can make your end of round total be exactly 50 points your score is reduced to zero and all other players add 50 points to their score. Using Furry is tricky if it’s something you attempt often opponents may expect that move from you, and if you’re caught trying to count cards or taking high cards from the discard pile, you may soon find others sending Zombies to your village. The Dagger token itself requires more precise activation than the tokens in previous games as well. When activated it reverses play order, this same ability is duplicated by the 11 value card the Reverser. In a game of 3 or more players it is less situational and can just be a minor annoyance, but in a 2 player game the Dagger skips the turn of your opponent and lets you take another turn. Dagger seems to be the most powerful of the silver artifacts but even more so in a 2 player game. Ridding your village of werewolves by reducing your hand size and accumulating the lowest possible score has been a wonderful experience when playing these games. Familiarity with card abilities makes game play fast and there are no lulls in player interaction as everyone is actively involved in monitoring their opponent’s villages and their own. With the ability to mix and match cards from all games to make you own custom decks the replayability and combinations are limitless. You could customize decks that are friendly and welcoming to new players or create one that is full of targeted abilities and high strategy. These villages are your playground, have fun defending them.
