Decent quality replacement door bumper

I needed to remove a sliding door and the screws holding the bumpers were rusted in place. I cut off the rubber bumpers so I could get a vise-grip on the screws. I bought two of these bumpers. They are a good value, but I replaced the screws that came with them with screws that had a built-in washer. I also would have liked a slightly softer rubber material so the door doesn't bang so hard when opened fully...but these are doing well.

Just be careful to not overtighten the screw. You could use a washer.

It's hard plastic. Time will tell if it'll hold up against the door. The big issue is it includes very long screws, much longer than is necessary, or, in my case, is usable. In my case the screws will hit brick long before going all the way in, forcing me to find an alternative. It'd be useful if a washer was included that would allow the same screw to be used but secure it further up the bumper (as the washer wouldn't go all the way in).

Did the trick

Accidentally broke one of these in the new house. Was glad this set was available at an amazing price. Also glad it was a piece I could replace myself before the hubby noticed :-p

It's hard plastic, not "rubber".

The product, for what it is probably deserves a 4star. However, it is not what was described. So, although it is perfectly good, and I did install it and it will serve at least some, I think that "hard rubber" as described, would probably have a little more bounce to it and absorb some of the shock of the door hitting it over and over. As it is I am expecting it to fail or damage the handle in the foreseeable future. So I am already thinking about solutions.

Installation hardware provided is insufficient.

Without adding a washer this product doesn't work. The screw provided has too small of a head and upon tightening down the screw head goes right through the stop base.

It hard plastic, not rubber like in description, and likely to break.

This product is hard plastic. Any blow from the sliding door will be transmitted to the door frame, in my case aluminum clad. In below freezing temperatures, it will likely just break if struck by a sliding door. The provided screws are not stainless and will need to be replaced if for outdoor use. A washer is needed but not included. The small end has an indentation, as if for a rubber pad, that doesnt exist. This indentation is not pictured on the amazon page, so likely the product was changed from rubber to hard plastic. I didnt expect much but this is garbage. I rarely leave bad reviews, most all my reviews are positive. The rubber one is sold by Slide-Co on Amazon at twice the price. I returned this plastic one and bought the rubber ones. Glad I did, because it turned out they were 3/4" too long. I easily cut off 3/4" with a chop saw (after screwing into the end of a board to hold it). Cant trim a plastic one easily or well.
