Anchor Hocking True Seal 7 Cup Bowl with Lid ( Is Only 1 Bowl With Lid, Not A Set Of Four Bowls And Lids )

I ordered this item because I have other similar items and I find the 7 cup size very useful. The lid on this item is different than the older design. The older lids were a harder type of plastic and can crack over time. The new design of the True Seal lid uses a softer silicone rubber type material. The glass bowl is the same durable design as the other Anchor Hocking and Pyrex that I own. I am giving this item a 4 star review based on the quality and performance of the product. However, my rating would have to be much lower than that if I were to factor in the problem that I had with the actual order that I received for the item description that Amazon has listed. The item description for this item led me to believe that this was a set of 4 bowls and 4 lids. Unfortunately, what I received was only 1 bowl and 1 lid. I was very disappointed with this and I would have never placed the order at the listed price, if I had known it was for a single bowl and lid. Either this was a shipping mistake or the product description is very misleading and I immediately contacted Amazon customer service about this issue. Fortunately, I have good results when dealing with Amazon to resolve problems with orders. I didn't want the hassle of having to return the item, so they issued me a partial account credit and I kept the single bowl and lid. This is a very good product but buyer beware, the current listed price would be fine for a set of 4 bowls and 4 lids but it is certainly not a very good value if you are only going to receive a single bowl and lid. I honestly don't know whether this was a mistake in shipping me only 1 bowl and lid or if the product description is misleading and incorrect. As I have now read numerous other reviews that describe this same problem, this was obviously not an isolated incident. Amazon must surely realize that no customers that expect to receive a set of 4 bowls and 4 lids are going to be satisfied to receive merely 1 bowl and 1 lid. The current listed price is way too expensive for a single bowl and lid and is ridiculous considering that for this same price (or even less) you can buy the 10 piece set that includes this item. If this is a mistake in the information for this listing, Amazon has had ample time to correct the misleading product description that states - Set Contains (4) 7 cup storage containers and lids. One of the reasons I buy from Amazon is that I value accurate product information and want to be confident that what I order is what I will receive. It is disappointing that Amazon would continue to allow the confusion with this item. I would have considered reordering this item if it would indeed be the set of 4 bowls and 4 lids but I would be very skeptical whether I would actually receive the set of 4 or just another single bowl and lid. As the saying goes, fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. Update: As of 10-10-18 the Amazon listing for this item has not been changed and still describes this as a set of 4 bowls and 4 lids. However, buyer beware to anyone expecting this to be a set of 4 bowls and 4 lids. I only received a single bowl and lid as have numerous other reviewers of this item from this listing.

I bought these several years ago after all my Pyrex lids started cracking. The lids don't crack and I have had them many years. They also seal well.

Awesome find!

This was an awesome find! It is relatively large but not uncomfortably heavy. It is sturdy, thick and easy to clean too! I use it to store food in the refrigerator and freezer. It is dishwasher safe and it keeps food tasty fresh! I have no complaints and would purchase again!

I received four 7-cup containers and four Chinese lids

Anchor Hocking 7-Cup Round TrueSeal Food Storage Set, Pack of 4 Ships from and Sold by Amazon.com LLC After reading the recent reviews, I took a chance and ordered anyway. I did, indeed, receive 4 7-Cup round bowls and 4 lids as shown on the product page title and description at the time of my purchase. These had a sticker on the bottom of the bowls that stated, "Glass made in USA Lid made in China." On the same day, I also ordered http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002MW3IE4/ The lids in that set were made in USA. I ordered another set, http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002L9V0RK/ and its lids were made in China. The lids in all sets are clearly marked and the glass in all sets were made in USA. My quick test consisted of filling a container about 2/3 with water, pressing the lid in place, pressing the center to evacuate the most air, and holding sideways or upside down. I didn't test every lid, but what I found is that the Chinese lids leak and the USA lids do NOT leak - even when holding upside down and shaking. Anybody surprised? We will not be carrying these in backpacks while trail riding, snow boarding, motocross racing, or any extreme sports. We won't actually be participating in any of those things, either, so I expect they'll all do just fine for our uses. And they are much better than the hodge-podge mix of stained, mismatched plastic containers they're replacing. At least if they don't chip or break with reasonable use. If I'm wrong, and they leak even with our mild uses, I will update this review.

Wonderful size and quality

I've been slowly switching over to glass storage containers because of the issues with plastic. I don't want my kids eating plastic that leached into their foods when I heated it up. They also stain and are more difficult to clean. This is a great storage container. The glass is thick enough that it will take being banged around in the kitchen and dishwasher well. The lid is thick but soft and easily pliable. It fits well and to get a true seal when putting it on, all you do is push the center of the lid down. It suctions onto the top and you're done. To break the seal just pull up on the handle. These can be used in the fridge, freezer, microwave and even in the oven. The seven cup size is perfect for leftovers (I put soup in this last night) or whatever your family may need. We always keep fresh berries on hand and this will work perfectly for that as well. After checking online they are very reasonable when purchasing sets of different sizes. I really like these containers and look forward to gathering many more.
